solid surface tub deck

Does anyone have any experience with a solid surface tub deck that continues into a shower? I am wondering if the seat needs to be sloped like in a normal shower or if it’s fine being left straight since it’s a solid piece of quartz continuing out of the shower. I understand if left straight we will need to brush the water off ourselves. All the photos I have seen of a tubdeck with a solid surface have been straight. Our quartz fabricator says it needs to be sloped but I can’t find any photos of what that would look like. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Haven't done it, but priced Corian when doing our master bath. The local place charged $1400 per slab, and fabbed it into whatever you wanted.

The photo above was to illustrate the tub/shower configuration only, not for the tile job... Solid surface is not an option for us for the price reasons. Even if we would afford it, I do not understand how to make a panel inside the shower if the shower glass enclosure is more narrow than the deck? palimpsest, that is exactly what I was going to do as we will use Kerdi system anyway.. The problem is that it can't be done with our 1'x2' tile. Here is the spec: Minimum access panel pump/control: 20Ã¢ÂÂ²Ã¢ÂÂ²(50.8 cm) W x 15Ã¢ÂÂ²Ã¢ÂÂ²(38.1 cm) H required Not sure how to make it nice looking and not very noticeable...

Solid surface vs. acrylic tub? Help!

I really wanted a solid surface, however my tub space is 5" shorter than I expected it to be because of the location they placed our shower door, so I am considering an acrylic w/insulation. As the person that uses it, I think I would notice a difference since it does not retain heat as long and I would guess that the larger/deeper the tub the more of an issue this might be. acrylic tub w insulation What did you decide ?

Solid Surface Corian ready-to-install tub wall kit on cement board?

I am redoing my bathroom and wanted a solid surface tub surround instead of tile or acrylic/fiberglass surround. I found this Corian Ready-to-Install Tub Wall kit. Problem is, I don't think they make the dupont adhesives etc, any more listed on the box. I've been reading into how to install it. Seems like the most are suggesting 100% silicone due to the fact it can flex with the Corian expansion. How does the silicone handle adhering to the Hardiebacker boards? Some are saying to use Greenboard, or moisture resistant wall board. Just looking for any advice on adhering a solid surface (in this case Corian) to hardiboard cement backer board. I'm leaning on going with the Supreme GE Silicone and Hot glue on the corners to hold it in place while it cures. Any experience or suggestions?
