Anyone here been diagnosed with RLS?
Comments (8)Proudgm - I'm late to reply because I don't usually watch this forum but I agree with Linda. It CAN be caused by a vitamin deficiency. I had trouble with it when I was pregnant. It's hard to get enough vitamins when you're eating for two and in my case, I was eating for three since I was pregnant with twins. It makes it hard to sleep since it seems like when you try to relax, that's when it bothers you the most. My leg muscles would crawl and then jerk just as I was starting to go to drift off. I was thinking it was vitamin E that helped me but it's possible that they use other vitamins to help it also. Try putting "RLS vitamins" in the google search box and see what you find. Some people use magnesium as a natural muscle relaxer and years ago, when I worked at a pharmacy, I was surprised how many people swore by it for migraine headaches. I can't find it now but I'm sure that I've read that Missouri's ground water has a low amount of magnesium in relation to the amount of calcium that it has. A high amount of calcium makes you need more magnesium. It might be something that you would want to research. Comments (25)My Dane was not showing signs either we had been fighting a sore on his back leg that would not heal, well it would heal go away then come back. It was during this process that I noticed one of his lymph nodes in his rear thigh was about the size of an egg, he had had that happen before and gave us a scare several years earlier but upon biopsy it was not lymphoma and it reduced on it's own. Once I found the one this time I took him to the vet and she did a full body lymph node inspection and all of them were very enlarged, she took biopsies immediately and sent them to Texas A&M oncology, we got the answer back in just a few days it was positive and it was already in stage 4, they gave him 3 to 4 months. He did not act sick, he had a great appetite, but he began to not be able to get up and down and then would lose control of bladder and bowel, which embarrassed him so much he was such a good dog. When his face began to bloat up and he could not get up we decided it was time. Our wonderful vet and her entire staff came to our home to do it so he would be at home and surrounded by love. It was very peaceful and he is now buried under the big oak tree out back. It was hard on us for a while but knowing it was the right thing to do made it a bit easier. That picture I posted is shortly before we had to put him down he had lymph nodes at that time about the size of oranges all over his body. but he was still playing with little Mia. I know this will be a devastating time for your family, you at least have some of her still with her offspring that is so fortunate. Remember all those great times you shared! I feel your pain and am shedding tears with you....See MoreHave you ever been given the wrong medicine?
Comments (42)Oakley, sorry you're going thru this. As bad as it is, it could have been a lot worse :( Yes, I've been given the wrong medication but even worse, the wrong medication was given to my daughter when she was just a child. But, being the proactive type, I always check meds before taking them. Before the Internet and Google, I used a PDR to reference drugs. It was the same pharmacist both times. I tore into him when he gave my daughter the wrong medication and complained to the store management. This guy seemed to be on too many drugs himself! Found out later there were many complaints against him and soon after he was fired. Being in the hospital is so darn dangerous anymore (well has been for many many years). Superbugs, overworked staff, staff on drugs, under educated staff...you can't leave a loved one in the hospital by themselves. Someone needs to be their advocate. DH has been in the hospital exactly 2x. The first was for a crushed heel. The care (or lack of) and staff was so atrocious I spent most of my time in the administrator's office :o I later filed a complaint with the state board of health and after reviewing my complaints and finding them valid, they zeroed out his bill. The 2nd time was for a double bypass. EXCELLENT care this time around in a much better hospital (Louis and Peaches Heart Hospital in Tyler, TX). Everyone from the janitorial crew to the surgeon and his cutting edge bypass procedure and the sharp as a tack nurturing and caring nurses. You would have thought he was their only patient. I've been taking pro-biotics daily for a few years. There is no doubt in my mind they prevent all kinds of illnesses. A happy gut full of good bacteria is a good thing :) I have a friend that got C-diff in the hospital. Hers became so bad she needed the bowel transplant. My mother also contracted it in the hospital, I think during an oblation for A-fib. She didn't have the bowel transplant but it took her months to get over it....See MoreI have been missing you!
Comments (35)We have a creek that runs down the side of the property. It becomes a raging river with hard rain. The dirt spot is where yard drainage has eroded the yard . It’s a mess. Lake Blackshear is located outside town, so the sea wall guy, (hubby’s friend and the best in the business) has been tied up out there. They lower the water at the lake before Christmas, so people can work on their docks and sea walls. this creek fills completely to the top. They are going to reroute it more into the pasture. It empties into our pond....See Morewildchild2x2
