i can't believe how stupid my mother is *epic rant*
Comments (71)Kim, I accept/appreciate the sentiment conveyed in your above post. I continue to feel, though, that if one must use Holy Writ to justify a position OR to instruct others, then it's important (especially given the tenor of our times) to be very sure that whatever divine dictum invoked is quoted with accuracy. With all due respect, I think you've read into the verse you cited something that simply isn't there. That directive & its accompanying promise appear multiple times in both Testaments. In every instance (and in all of the several translations I'm aware of) the adjective modifying "long life" is either "thy" or "your", NEVER "their". So, everybody, we can lighten up and be of good cheer -- God is not going to off mom & dad before their time simply 'cause (like me) you were an insufferable young hellian. On the other hand, as a result of those juvenile trangressions, we maturing delinquents may rapidly (and deservedly?) be approaching our own personal, sadly premature end of days. :-) Since, unfortunately, we're in the mode, I might as well remind the peeved here of the sacred injunction regarding the casting of stones (that would be John 8:7). To any who maintain that they were never in the grips of an irrational snit with a parent (and vocal about it) allow me to say this: Get real. I don't believe a word of it....See MoreInappropriate use of Facebook, in my opinion
Comments (19)It's true that you don't blame the medium because people are stupid and addicted to their cellphones, "social media" resources, etc, but it's BECAUSE people are stupid and addicted to their cellphones "social media" resources, etc, is just another reason I *don't* do MySpace, I *don't* do Facebook, I *don't* look for dates on Craigslist, I *don't* "tweet" or participate in any of the other technological addictions. I don't need these pacifiers to stay in touch with people. There's plenty of other, far better ways to do stay in touch. Used to be "sex, drugs and rock & roll" were the addictions of the day. Now it's cellphone, text and Facebook/social media. Whenever I see someone who can't resist checking every time that leash sounds a chime, can't resist thumbing away at it when it does and can't go an hour without checking their "page" I can't help but wonder if we shouldn't give a special lane on the roads so we can cull the herd a bit. Some people just have too much time and money on their hands. It's sad. This post was edited by cynic on Thu, Apr 11, 13 at 10:33...See MoreWhen people are *this* stupid, you *must* laugh...
Comments (7)A true story from the police blotter. A fella had been drinking and drove to Wal Mart to load up on more munchies for TV watching. As he exited the store, he could not find his car and concluded it had been stolen. He flips open his cell phone and reports his car as stolen. Just as the police are pulling into the aprking lot, he remembers: I drove my OTHER car, and there it is! He starts to explain to the police his error and heads toward his car to make a hasty exit. But, not so fast. The cop got a whiff of his breath and noticed his unstable condition. A quick sobriety test was made and of course, our subject failed it miserable. Now, the police has reason enough to demand a search of his car. They find a bong pipe and drugs. The jig is up! The police reason that he drove drunk to the store and issued a DUI ticket, and now they are hauling him off to jail on a drug charge. What a bad day. This driver turned himself in. It was he who made the phone call in the first place. There must have been some giggling when this report was written up....See MoreMark Zuckerberg's Sister Complains Of Facebook Privacy Breach
Comments (5)What a frigging joke. Does she not understand what a royal jerk non caring piece of dirt her brother is and that he is the one responsible for all of it. Like he ever cared about anyones privacy he cared about the money that is it nothing else including his sisters privacy. That is really a laugh, about as funny as when Marks own facebook was affected by his sudden change of privacy settings and all his "private" pictures leaked out. So deserving. The best part is where she says it is about human decency wow just wow her brother has NONE, he is the one that stated anyone that was stupid enough to provide all their info to him and facebook were stupid MFs guess that includes his sister too. And those comments of his and much worse are all public and out there to view lol....See More- 8 years ago
