Miele Induction Cooktop: Set Flush or Drop In
Comments (31)Miele is very specific about their installation needs and those must be followed to the letter. Be SURE to go to the model number of the appliances you are getting, download those specification sheets, make copies and hand them to the contractor, cabinet people, plumber and electrician. They need them and I never depend on them getting the right ones. My kitchen is 12 now and I started with a different brand. Had to replace over time -- first the oven, then the fridge. Went with Miele. The Miele dw is 12 and has never had a repair. It looks like new and functions wonderfully. I'm completely devoted to my Miele oven though it's the older pre-steam model. I will say, it requires a learning curve to use it. When I bought it I made up my mind I would and it's paid off....See MoreInduction Cooktops - Miele vs. Wolf vs. Bosch
Comments (68)trove: My Miele odor comment was intended as a zinger directed at Miele due to various complaints on this forum about dishwasher odor (probably not confined just to Miele). Some who have looked into this in depth have recently blamed it on humidity acting on microscopic food particles not flushed by the dishwashing process, and on dirty liquid in the dishwasher plumbing left over after operation. I know I have had odor problems at times with my Optima, but due to onset of winter have to wait until summer to try to verify whether either cause of blame is consistent with my observations. Miele has to conform to European laws relating to energy efficiency, and this also affects water usage. It may be that old style American dishwashers remained more sanitary in humid conditions after their drying cycle. I don't recall odor from childhood dishwashers, but I think my family's dishwasher was run more often than my Miele. kas...See MoreInduction cooktop 36" - Wolf vs Miele vs Bosch
Comments (15)Bring your pots into a showroom to try them out. Function-wise I suspect you would be happy with any of these, but layout may be another story. I chose the Miele (not with the flex burner - was not out yet) because I wanted to easily be able to use 3 12" skillets at the same time - it's great for that, and much better than the newer model IMO or any of the other models. Many of them just have smaller hob sizes which are not as good for larger skillets (boiling water doesn't matter so much - so depends on what you are doing). Love the separate burner timers too - we use them a lot more than we thought we would for our pressure cooker, rice, pasta, drying cast iron, etc. Definitely thrilled with our choice all the way around! You probably can't make a wrong choice here though....See MoreInduction Cooktops: Thermador Freedom Discontinued, now what?
Comments (40)Well, i haven't seen it in person, so is hard to tell, but it looks like the control layout and functionality is better. would love to hear from someone with working knowledge of the product, though. Also seems to come in a grey color....See Morewiddy23
