Question on new maple growing in the back yard. Multiple trunks?

So last year we had a little seedling and it started growing where we couldn't grow a lilac. See picture below of what it looks like last year.:

Now it looks like this:

As you can see it's grown quite a lot in a years time which is awesome. The question I have is it appears that it's going to have three trunks or is it? At this point in the game should I cut the two side branches/trunks off or let it be?

I've never seen that before on such a little tree. There is actually a seedling by the house that took off from last year: See pictures below. You can see that looks like a normal single trunk tree.

Just mainly wondering on the first triple trunk baby maple growing..lol I can't foresee it really being a problem until I am long gone but figured I'd ask. I plan on transplanting the single trunk maple that's right by the house/patio and putting it in the common area space behind our house so it can grow into a big tree.

Thanks much,

-Nigel
