My first plumeria flowering ever!!
Comments (4)Has anyone here ever plantedan egg in the bottom of the pot with there cutting or plant? I joined the Aloha plumeria forum and was encouraged to do this. I believe 100% that this is what got my cutting to root so fast and bloom its first year. I also wanted to add that I have 3 Nebel's Gold plumeria cuttings that I am looking to trade with anyone who has plumerias that I don't have. Andrew...See MoreMy first flower buds ever!
Comments (18)I also would like to know about micronutrients. I have read quite a bit about there use but I am not sure what to use for this. I really don't have access to that stuff here so if anyone could give me a website that I could buy it from that would be great. So far I have been using miracle grow for graden plants and slow release fertilizer. i have not had any burn and the tree is blooming so I think all is well for now, but I want to be able to give my tree that extra boost while the flowers/fruit are developing. Any ideas? I would also like to go from chemical to organic gardening. I would like to know that what I am eating is not full of chemicals. Thank you all! Comments (12)Hello Geoff. Glad to see that the buds have been spared by the bird and have now opened for you. It's a great achievement to get your seedlings to the flowering stage, you appreciate them more I think. I waited 8 years for the first flower to open on mine, others dropped off 3 years in succession prior to this summers blooms. They weren't spectacular by any means, just singles, but they were good. One was pink, the other pale yellow. Must say, I do admire the doubles, there are some fantastic plants shown on the forum as you have already noticed! What kind of mix do you grow them in over in HK? Do you have to be careful of the rains there? I know it can rain hard, I've been caught out in HK rain a couple of times myself. The warm temps must be good for them as yours have flowered at 12 months. Gill...See MoreVCR seedling, first ever flower.
Comments (10)Hi Chris thanks. This one is an almost 4 year old, 2.5 foot tall plant, grown from a Brad's seed. It has been said that VCR seedlings are lanky and take a while to flower...not necessarily true, lol! Looks a bit like a Rimfire, perhaps...but I'm just glad it looks good....See MoreHelen Agius (Adelaide,Sth Aus) USDA Z10b
