Spanish Revival/Mexican/Mediterranean Style - Part X
Comments (15)Thanks for all the kind sentiments about our babies. I am sleep-deprived but very happy. :-) Well...I just HAD to get some Mexican flair in at least one room of this house and I chose the nursery to do that in. I didn't quite get the nursery done before their births due to bedrest so it's still a work in progress. The walls are painted orange (gasp!) and the window treatment includes Mexican paper flowers. One of the walls has the beginnings of a Mexican Tree of Life with paper birds, tin milagros (from the twins' godmother by way of Albuquerque), a Cuzco-style oil of the Santo Nino (I bought it while in San Miguel Dec 06...hoping for a pregnancy miracle) and not sure what else I'll be adding to the tree. I'll post some progress photos. It's taking me much longer than I anticipated. Where are you all and where are all the photos?????...See MoreRE: Spanish Revival/Mexican/Mediterranean Style - Part IX
Comments (150)BinsB How GREAT! I'd guess by now the 'kids' are knocking from the outside - yes? Paleese post a pic if you can. We'd all (I'm sure) love to see your accomplishments :-))) after waiting soooo long. Love the orange colors of the nursery but mmm - are they really going to sleep in one crib? :-)) Just kidding. When you have time, which likely won't be for awhile I'm sure, would love to see the nursery with the paper flowers, et al. Not to worry about the non-span house of present. It's the spirit inside that can carry it thru. Imagine what a tough time I have in my location. LOL!! You'll have lotsa fun (when/if you can find the time) doing some special stuff in your new abode. Trop - hmmm pictures this year? LOL! That will be fun to see. I'll look forward (but won't hold my breath too awfully long). :-))) I'm thinking maybe you just eliminated the kitchen altogether and are doing take out now? Houseful it's great to have you posting again. Perhaps you can help us breathe some life back into this thread as I know Bins is going to be rather busy over the next while. :-)) If it weren't for her dedication, I'm sure this thread would no longer exist. I have a few things on my plate but hopefully they will be resolved shortly and I can return to my decorating love. And speaking of thread(s), I didn't check but I'm thinking we must be getting close to limit - yes? Should we be starting a new thread? Waddya all think? Take care all, Holly...See MoreAdd exterior trim to Andersen casement windows Spanish Revival? Help!
Comments (32)Hi. I'm no expert (very far from it lol), but in dealing with a situation similar to yours, I came across this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUXKXJScyYQ This person added the trim afterwards (on top of the stucco). Doing that might make you feel better about your windows. Good luck going forward. Please let us know what you decided to do. Depending on the shape of the trim you choose, if you try this, you might be able to get close to the look of the window trim in the picture shared by Jeffrey above even though not actually recessed....See MorePaint choices help! Comments (1)Love your tile. I'd use the light neutral background color of the tile for the walls. How about the green for the mantle?...See MoreDarian Morrow
