What is your cat's favorite toy?
Comments (17)My Emma (about 7-8 years old) can have fun for a good 20 minutes with her favorite toy, one of those hard plastic "connectors" that holds the tag on a new item of clothing from the store. For safety, I only give her the really large ones- the ones that hold a pair of shoes together are perfect. If it doesn't have a little curl in it, I put one in using the edge of a knife like for curling ribbon. It hilarious - it'll hook onto her paw and she'll flip it off then watch it as it has a little quiver, spring action to it, before she pounces again! Don't laugh too hard, but I even once scoured the whole store looking for one that was just laying around and then asked the clerk if I could have it..... should've seen the look I got!!...See Morecat chewing cardboard
Comments (11)I found a new vet I'm going to try and have an appointment on wed. Hopefully this isn't health problem. I've noticed she has a lot more energy lately. She always wants to play and goes crazy if you dangle a string in front of her. She is also going over to the kittens and pouncing on them trying to engage them in play when they are sitting or resting. Maybe she has too much excess engery? And my take on the indoor outdoor thing- growing up we had indoor outdoor cats but not many of them lived very long. We didn't live close to the road but still had one cat killed on the road, others were attacked and killed by dogs, poisioned by drinking anti freeze, trampled by a horse, and some did make it to old age. My cats will NEVER be indoor/outdoor kitties. they are perfectly content inside in their climate controlled environment. I had a foster cat that was an indoor/outdoor cat (her previous owners) and I brought her in when I found her with kittens. She lived inside for about 3 months after living outside (her owners abandoned her so she was living outside) for probably about a year. After her kittens were weaned I tried to put her back outside and that cat wouldn't budge. Didn't want any part of the outdoors. She was perfectly content to be a lazy house cat in a safe environment....See Moreany tips for keeping cats out of blinds?
Comments (9)It sounds like they just want to get up on the windowsill so they can look outside. Cats won't usually jump onto a surface unless they have space to land, so fill the windowsill area with something (cardboard boxes, bags of sugar, books, whatever). Or put something over the window so they can't see out, like that "stained glass" or frosted adhesive-backed plastic. Then they'll have no reason to jump up there. You could also try taping sheets of flimsy cardboard to the windowsills, so that several inches of cardboard hangs over into the room. They will jump onto the cardboard, it will bend, and they will fall to the floor (unharmed). After a few tries they'll give up....See Morecat toys
Comments (38)My indoor cat will play with most any toy, stuffed or a small plastic wiffle ball type toy, but after awhile I can't find any of them. I don't know where she hides them. I know they must end up under furniture SOMEwhere. Always worry the furry mice will go up the sweeper hose. The mentioned ball makes a lot of noise as it's batted and rolls across the wood floors. She's had 8 that I know of but so far they have vanished. The outdoor/indoor cats love the laser toy. As soon as I open the desk drawer, and I try to be discreet, they go sit near a wall where I normally shine it. So funny....See MoreBunny
