Local Strawberries for Jam

Asparagus is gone, sadly. Rhubarb isn't ready for another picking for about a week. I just cut the last of the garlic scapes and my raspberries are loaded with berries, but they are still small and green. What is a farm girl to do? Pick up a flat of local strawberries, of course.

I kept some to eat fresh, Elery has been adding them to my homemade yogurt as a snack. I made a batch of jam, then the rest went into the freezer. I think I may have to pick up another flat, they are really nice this year and Madi loves strawberries on her waffles. Frozen is just fine with her, the fresh ones she eats far before they could ever grace a waffle...

I did plant 36 strawberry plants in raised beds this spring, but there won't be many berries until next year, so I suppose I'd better get somewhere and start picking!
