Do you have a cordless 2 in 1 vacuum you like?
Comments (2)Looking back I see you indeed were also looking for a cordless. A little more research, and the fact I use Ryobi 18VDC hand tools led me to the Ryobi 18VDC hand vacuum. I may try it as it uses the same battery and charger I already have for hand tools, and that is an 18V Lithium Ion battery. I believe this battery is superior but I have owned such a battery only since Christmas (present) - i can say the battery has been sitting in a very cold garage since Christmas and it still has a good charge - I needed to us a hand drill yesterday and used that battery - it was full of "pep:". I don't yet have the vac and so can't say how well it works, but a good battery is a good starting point....See MoreRecommend a cordless hand-held vacuum
Comments (5)I have the Dyson V6. It's very easy to use and empty and does an almost excellent job in the kitchen. I bought an accessory short hose to attach to the vac for above the floor cleaning to get more flexible access to inside the microwave, etc....See MoreDyson Cordless Vacuums
Comments (37)recordaras - both my Miele upstairs & downstairs canisters have the electric motorized carpet head and they work quite well. We have some faux oriental rugs in the kitchen, made of olefin (well, they are in the kitchen LOL) that grab and hold dog hair like nobody's business. My old beloved Hoover Wind Tunnel upright can't even pick it up. So I usually rub the carpets with sole of my shoe to get the hair or ball up, then hit it with the upright. Yesterday, I used my Miele canister carpet head and OMG the stuff came right up! Our son needs a new vac and put it in his Xmas wish list. I really wanted to get him a Sebo 'Felix', but there are no authorized service centers nowhere near him. No way is he going to ship anything anywhere for repair or whatever, especially with the long hours he works. So we bought him the Miele canister that Costco has online. I hope he likes it! * * *. It is so nice to have a support group for my vacuum cleaner addiction. All seven of them. LOL!!! Each one has a dedicated job. The best of the lot is the Panasonic canister vac I bought 30+ years ago. That motor refuses to die! It has lived in the basement/garage for ages and has even sucked up crud from the bottom of an outdoor grill. Kenmore bags still fit it, it takes a lickin' and keeps on ticking. (and if you are of a certain age, you will remember that old commercial.... :-))...See MoreDo you have a cordless, rechargeable stick vacuum?
Comments (0)And do you like it or not? I'm thinking about getting one and read mixed reviews about performance and reliability. My experience with vacuums is that they don't last (other than my Miele) but at this point I want to spend less than $300 for one of these. I'm about to terminate my housecleaner and it may be a while before I find another one so I'm thinking about what tools would be helpful for doing my own cleaning. I suck up a lot of stuff with a hand held vac but I'd like something I could do a once over on all the hard surface floors and maybe some rugs without lugging the regular vacuum up from downstairs (where most of the carpet is). I will use my regular vac for hard core cat hair removal on the carpet/rugs....See More
