Aw, dcarch, that looks delicious, and that's saying something, cause I'm not a HUGE fish fan. And hey, I recognize that flower:) So inquiring minds need to know, what is the additional accompaniment beside the snow peas? Please don't say something with fish skin GAH!!! :))))))! Goodness, if you asked me to plate these same items, it would never look as appetizing as yours! Not kidding.

Second time comment but Father's Day was deconstructed frittata sandwiches -- slab frittata, roasted mushrooms, grilled peppers, onions, sausage, bacon and salsa. I may be forgetting something HA! Field strawberries, blueberries and pineapple all on paper plates:) So grateful we were together, while mindful of those who have passed.

I hope you had an exceptional day, dcarch, as well as all who have provided father-like care and mentorship. You're appreciated!

I love fish, and (Cathy, close your eyes) I love crispy fish skin (and someday I will learn to make crispy fish skin! Looks delectable, and what a nice big sea bass! Yes I'm staring too, failing to figure out what that other is. Guess: chorizo?

I also repeat Cathy's sentiment - I hope your Father's day was lovely - and you are very appreciated!

No Father's here, as we've both lost ours some years back. I spent some time reflecting though. My Dad was wonderful, and my best friend, along with my Mom. I was so fortunate. Second time commented also: DH and I enjoyed my first mid-rare, not ruined because it was grilled to death, rib eye : ) Somewhat (ok, very proud) of my efforts : )

Photos for uploading · More Info
I know you aren't a fan of fat, dcarch, so ignore that blob above! I gave DH the best pieces, and he eats before photos can be taken! Potatoes did get over-grilled.

    I hope everyone had a great Father's day : )

    Thank you cathyinpa!

You know bacon is often used almost like a seasoning. It is
used so often that it can get boring. So I decided to look for something that
is more unique in flavor. That next to the snow peas are paper thin sliced
Chinese sausage. The fat and the juice from the sausage go very well with the
fish. Wonderful FD dinner you made.

Thank you 2MD. See my answer above regarding the other stuff
next to the snowpeas. Yes I too enjoy crispy fish skin. Amazing stuff foer
snacking. Incredible FD dinner you made. Perfect steak from a temporary kitchen
    is unbelievable.

Crispy salmon skin I made sometime ago.

Well, I'll be darned, showing my limited exposure. Never in a billion years would I have tagged that as sausage, Chinese, no less, dcarch.

So, I was intrigued, googled first Seriously Asian - Chinese Sausage (Serious Eats) which then led me to this recipe Rose's Kitchen Waxed Sausage So, is there sweet and soy flavor? Sounds very, very good; not only would that pair well with the fish, but those snow peas?

That shell is SOOOOO fantastic that it could, might, maybe, possibly, inspire me to try the fish skin. AHHHHH! Can't believe I said that:))

Aha, I thought it was a meat of some type with fat for just the reason you mention!

Oh, that skin, be still my heart! And the sea shell dip serving dish... I want to think you made this yourself, because you are such a clever person and I've seen other unique creations you've made. Gorgeous, and how utterly perfect for salmon skin!

Some time back I grilled salmon with skin on and it accidentally came out crispy (not nearly as nice as yours though) - DH wouldn't touch it so I ate every last bite of both his and mine : ) Heaven! Had I dip for it, he'd have 'taken the bait', I'm sure : ) But he'd had to have fought me for it! Some day I need to save the skin and try oven roasting it separately. Even if (or especially if) I'm the only one who eats it : )

Cathy, someday you should try well-made crispy fish skin : ) I know it's not to some tastes, but gosh, I love it!

ETA: Thank you for the comment on the rib eye, dcarch. My first that wasn't overcooked, and I'm ridiculously proud of it!

Thank you cathyinpa and 2MD. Yes I made that for dipping.

    And also these two:

    A gravy boat

    A candle/lantern

Wow, wow, wow!!!!!!!! Absolutely stunning, dcarch! Exceptional talent! Part of me is not surprised; as I look at your plating skills, now the whole artisan thing kind of makes sense. Is this self-taught? I'm getting a swan-like vibe from the gravy holder, which is exquisite to a bird-lover like me, but the intricacies of the candle? Stunning. Look at the base!

What a talent you have. I can tell this art gives you joy! It gave me joy too!

dcarch, thank you for sharing those - I love them. I'm not surprised that you have such talent as you seem like a can-do fellow. Fire, forging, a couple of my favorite things, but I've never done what you did above. So graceful and a clever way to make a functional item attractive : )
