Paint everything white.

Don't keep designing/updating around an element in the house that you dislike. While part of your house is already under construction go ahead and paint all the trim white. You won't regret the additional cost and time. I did the same in my house, all my trim was a cream color that looked like old/dirty white. I had it all repainted with Benjamin Moore Simply White and it made the space bright and clean.

Thank you for all the great responses! We have decided to paint the walk-in pantry door and the surounding trim to match the cabinets. I have a blinds company coming today to see what we can do about the kitchen window. Most likely taking those shutters down and replacing it with something that will coordinate with the white cabinets (roman shades, woven wood shades, ??) and soon-to-be painted white trim around the kitchen window (palladium). Or...can I get by with having the window, shutters, pantry door cream and cabinets and crown white??

Unfortunately, painting all the trim in our house right now is unrealistic. Our house is 4000+ sq ft with lots of trim, mouldings, etc. This new kitchen is way over my budget right now and replacing all the cream shutters in my house will cost me as much as my cabinet cost! Here is a picture of what I'm up against:

The windows, shutters, and doors are the same cream color as the fluted trim. The previous owner painted some of the baseboards white as well as columns to the family room. The rest are cream. I don't think it is possible to paint the shutters due to it's material. I will see what the blinds guy says.

SO...next question...if I do paint and change out the window treatment to the new white kitchen, what do I do with the breakfast area? Leave it cream still? Change the shutters to something that matches the kitchen like roman shades or something at the doors? The french doors are cream as well but can be painted. All three rooms (kitchen, breakfast and family room) all flow into each other.

For what it's worth, we are redoing our kitchen as it is falling apart. I'm surpised cabinets haven't completely fallen off the wall. The oven cabinet is tilting forward and separated from the wall right now. Cabinets are falling apart, forget about the drawers...

My trim is painted BM Navajo White, it's a very nice creamy white, creamier than White Dove and it doesn't read yellow in my space.

I'd keep your kitchen french doors a cream color. I think it looks good and complements the color of your kitchen well. If you're still unsure of what color to choose I'd hire an interior designer to come over and give you his/her advice. It will save you time and stress and is well worth the money.
