On the advice of my friend who has had both Toto and Kohler and replaced the Kohler toilets with Toto toilets, I am going with Toto

I also wanted ADA height and one piece construction and a SKIRTED base so all those swirls in the trap didn't show and have to be dusted.

The Guinevere is a pretty toilet for a traditional bathroom.

I am having the Legato in the master bath because I wanted a Connect Plus washlet toilet there.

What color TOTO white matches American Standard

Colonial white is supposed to match American Standard. You can email or call Toto and they'll send you color chips of cotton white and colonial white so you can compare for yourself. I just went through this deciding on how to match up a Toto toilet and bathtub with a Porcher sink (Porcher is owned by American Standard). For various reasons, I decided to stick with cotton white, but I think the colonial white was a slightly better match. I'm sure American Standard will send you a color chip too. It took Porcher a while to get my chip to me, but they eventually did. (I'm not so sure the chip actually matches the sink, but whatever. ;-))

Dave, The American Standard Cadet 3 has a boatload of different models. I found the One piece, Right Height (17 inch tall?) Cadet 3 to be a very good unit. The 1.6 gallon flush is quite powerful and does a great job. I haven't accumulated a bucket of golf balls to try in it yet, I keep losing them!! :)

aliris- While the footprint is different from toilet to toilet, even within brands, it does not typically cause an installation problem. I suppose if the footprint was smaller with the replacement toilet, you might notice a slight difference in color of vinyl flooring, or might have to scrape away some old caulk that was embedded in tile grout. But I don't consider these to be significant problems of the type you seemed to be worried about in your post.

What is the difference, and pros/cons of Gravity Flush and Pressure-assisted flush?

Oh my gosh, I did a search for Toto, skirted, elongated, chair height, and see that there are several models but there's different flushing technologies:

- double cyclone flush

- tornado flush

- E Max flush

I don't know the differences between these types of technologies. Can someone explain?

I have a Toto toilet, an AS toilet, a Kohler toilet, and a super cheap one the hardware store gave me for free so I'd pass inspection.

Yeah, they're all toilets and they do that toilet thing. It is possible to overthink toilets. :)
