How do I delete a "Follower"

I have no idea if it's even possible, but I have some people "following" me. It doesn't bother me, except 2 of them happen to live in my locale, and I've never ever seen them post anything on GW. It's a wee bit un-nerving how/why they'd even find me to follow me. Of course, they might just like some random posts that I've made over the years, but they're not at all active on GW.

I tried clicking on them, right-clicking etc, but there's no way that I can see, to have someone Unfollow you.

PS you can see your followers on Your Houzz and clicking your username.

Go to your profile. Select edit profile. Select advanced settings. Scroll to the bottom and uncheck allow users to follow my profile.

Sherry, it's just these 2 that I'd like to delete. It really doesn't bother me to have anyone follow me, ordinarily.

I do not know of one unless you could contact Gardenweb. They remove posts from time to time for their own reasons. You can contact them and request it. Good luck.

If they are using the app it's on the right. Mary Open the Facebook app. Tap the three lines towards the right of the top navigation bar. Scroll down and tap Settings & Privacy Tap Settings from the expanded menu. Scroll down and tap Account Ownership and Control.

I don’t think you can pick and choose who can or can’t follow. But what you can do is make it so no one can follow you. That option is at the bottom of advanced settings.

Just hovering over Jasdip's profile indicates 25 followers :-) And no you can't pick and chose - it's all or none. However, "following" does not mean they can actually track you through the forums or be notified when and if you post. To be honest, I doubt there is any point to that designation at all except to show some approval to something posted previously.

None show up for me for Jasdip yet for others I do see followers. Odd!

There was another topic about something like this a week or 2 ago. Someone said social media sites may be making these connections. Are you on Facebook?

Gardengal, I’m a bit confused by your comment “just hoovering over”. Can you explain what you mean by hoover? I only go to her profile when I click her name.

Not GG, but just hover your mouse over Jasdip's name and DON'T click:)

It's possible that these people don't know they are following Jasdip. I have seen if I click on a user name

that I become a follower....

If you have them connected to your Facebook or other social media they are probably showing up from that and not really from this site at all. They may not even know GW exist.

Much to my shock, I had over 30 "followers". Sorry, if anyone here has been an ardent follower (haha), but I've deleted the whole lot.

Rhizo, I was one of your followers (at least I think) and am not offended. Happened by accident before I even looked at the Kitchen Table. You were always helping identifying caterpillars and bugs in the Butterfly Garden. Sometimes when I hit the notification bell icon, instead of getting to the thread I accidentally land on the profile of whoever posted last (iPad). What does the following even do? I never got any notifications about anybody I am following (and there are some more accidental butterfly people). Never bothered to unfollow anybody for that reason.

I find this kinda funny Jasdip. I have had my settings set for no followers, no notifications, etc. I have only one follower and it is Jasdip lol lol. I have no idea how or why but I was surprised as I checked the no followers option in my profile. I don't mind but I guess I think it is kinda funny that you posted a thread over it;)) I won't be offended if you un-follow me. Either way is fine;)
