I am not going to be any help but I just wanted to say I love the light fixture over the dining table and love your granite. Can we get a close up picture of it though? On my monitor it looks a bit blue? Very pretty kitchen!

My taste is different than your taste. The fixtures you picked are beautiful, but my taste in your environment would lead me to a similiar but simpler style. Least amount of bulk, the better. But not so simple that is looks cheap. Exquiste details, fine craftsmenship is good but bulk might overstate. Even Lowes has solutions I would take. Your choices are great and if they please you and your family, go for it. You will be looking at the fixtures for the next x years and they need to make you happy. No one else really matters.(Except if you try to sell your house.) For a sellable opinion, I once asked a realtor to tell me what fixture would help me sell the house. She had some good ideas.

I have a 7'x5' island and I have two 9" pendents and two recessed lights over it. The single pendants aren't what you're planning, but I though I'd share a picture in case it helps you get an idea of scale with a 7' island. Here is a link that might be useful:

The slab is 24x14. Rough cost was 45k. Thats including, granite, all cypress ceilings and cabinets, 46" TV, sound system, sink, Bull 36" gas grill and side burner, fridge, stainless gas/woodburning fireplace, raised concrete slab, gutters, stucco, etc... We absolutely love it. Can get kinda crowded at times. Another 2' on the depth would have helped out alot. Other than the weather issue I am having now, I have no complaints. The TV was purposely positioned over the fireplace facing the jacuzzi! Best seat in the house for LSU and Saints games! That ought to answer your state question. lol Jimbar, I did a search for roller shades and cant find any info on shades like you have in the pic. Who did these for you and what was the cost? Thanks! That does look like something I would be looking for.
