Do some people have easier lives than others?
Comments (28)Rose.....keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Life is difficult at times. In 1994 both my kids called within a week of each other to tell me they were moving far away. DD was moving to Oahu and DS was moving to Tokyo. They left within a month of each other. It was so hard but knowing I had raised them to be independent adults helped. My son moved back to NYC in 2000 and DD moved back to California the year before. Then DS and wife moved back to Tokyo. We recently got together in Oahu for a week. It was so good to see him and to meet our granddaughter for the first time. Seeing DDIL again made me appreciate her even more. My grandson, whom I hadn't seen for a year, was a delight and we had so much fun. They are moving back to NYC within the next month or two. I am happy for me but sad for DDIL who has family in Japan but will be far away from both families in NYC. Life is filled with challenges and facing them will make us stronger, even though it is painful to endure. Look for the rainbow thru your tears....See MoreSeems I should know what this is (but I don't)
Comments (17)Well, as no one seems to know what this is and there have been some pretty wild suggestions, I'll go out on a limb with a wild suggestion of my own and say that I get a bit of a clematis hunch when I see this. And before you say 'But that looks othing like clematis!' I mean a seedling of a wild species. Over here we have Clematis vitalba as our self seeding native clematis. And the seedlings can look a bit like this. So how about the N American equivalent C virginiana? Anyone like to comment?...See MoreWhat do I do? I need advice from people who know lawns!
Comments (7)On the back of the bag of the turf builder, it said to do it once a week for 4 weeks. And it shows what the grass should be doing in each week. I got to application 3 and everything was fine. I stopped it there because then the heat came and turned everything yellow. In the picture, i applied turf builder to that area. It was great until it turned 90 and above for the weekend and it all turned yellow except for that one really green edge. I applied it there because the rest of that grass belongs to my neighbor. The watering schedule is sun, tues, and thursday at 6am for 10 minutes. The sprinklers are set up to cover the whole area that is my yard in the frpnt and back, so I can get an inch of water with those in 10 minutes. According to the landscaping company. But that just started this past sunday. A month ago i would do a spray with the hose every other day. I dont know how much i watered, but i would skip a few days after a rainy day. Maybe I watered too much. (-.-) The HOA landscapers are not optional for my neighborhood sadly. So i cannot control the mowing aspect of my lawn care, but I can control the water system and everything else....See MoreHow do I make Soft Chamois cabinets seem more white? What wall color?
Comments (10)Actually, I believe the undertone of Chamois is green. apple_pie_order_ is correct by saying the new bulbs will help. The one caveat is the new bulbs will, most likely, change the tone of other colors in the room as well. What else is going on in the kitchen? What did you paint the woodwork? Counters/tile/floor? They are all part of the mix. as lights colors can take on a neighboring influence…like the green trees outside or the Brazilian Cherry floor. Personally, the idea of Chamois on your cabinets sounds beautiful. I would continue using it, here and there; make it a dominate color.. B.M. silver chain looks beautiful with it, and if you continue to add more of the chamois…yum!...See Moredavez7anv
