Help! Need help on choosing Front door color.
Comments (2)I almost pasted in your photo so everyone didn't have to go the link route, but I noticed all your photos are © all rights reserved. So I didn't. That's a smart thing to do by the way, ©. Your screen door is very smart looking. There are a lot of doodads out front: the flower on the door, the big pot of plants, the flag. If you get a new color on the door that you love, I wonder if there will be less doodads and decoration. :~D I can think of one color for the door. It's a red, but it is a very warm red. "Warm" red is a big clue that it is an orange-y-er red. I know you don't want "orange" but the bricks are going to dictate to a great extent the color choices. Also, you don't want the door color to blend any more, like the current color. So, to get that punch you're likely lookin' at some flavor of red. Ben Moore's Caliente would be the first chip/sample I'd check out. Another idea to play with is something like a mid-value golden yellow. Again, due to the brick you'll have to get the *right* golden yellow, but it is another color option that will pop and not blend....See MoreHelp me choose a front door color? Thanks
Comments (3)If it helps, here is a photo of our Hodley Red doors and windows. In real life and bright light, it's a very rosy-pink kind of red. (Photo was taken while we were replacing the vinyl windows PO put in with reproductions of originals.)...See MoreHelp me choose front door style
Comments (23)My first choice would be to remove the sidelights completely and install two wider doors in mahogany (or reasonable facsimile) with the dark ironwork over glass. That's the big new thing here, getting rid of sidelights. Who knew? I wish I could afford to do it at our house. I don't like those sidelights at all and it makes so much trim around the front door area. That would be "my" first choice but you have some pretty options there : ) I like the first one best. Good luck!...See MoreHelp me choose color for front door
Comments (51)I love the Tandoori, and the Iron Mountain does go well with your siding, but maybe too well and wouuld be too blah. The Onondaga Clay would be what I'd envision as the perfect terra cotta and I'd love to see some teal/turquoise/bright blue pots and accents. Even those pretty blue hydrangeas. A coral door, IMO would bring in too much pink....See Morekatiemegs
