@cindy-6b/7a VA, @OutsidePlaying, I have no record of having planted a Chocolate Stripe. The photo posted was from 2015 and I have pictures of my seed trays that year. A friend might have given me one of his Berekeley Tie Dye but neither of us remember that. He's not grown the Chocolate Stripe. Or, it might have been a mix-up in my order with Hummert Seed that year. That's the best I got.

With the migration of millions of advertising dollars to silicon valley, causing the impoverishment and bankruptcy of so many newspapers, and loss of so much of professional journalism ... where do we find the real news? Doesn't healthy, vibrant democracy depend on real news being widely available? When half a dozen to a dozen guys who started computerized information deseminating (sp?) in their parents' basement/garage or a college dorm have become the richest guys in the world within a half of a generation - it seems to me that we're becoming a sick society ... ... and viable democracy may well be/is at serious risk. ole (usually) joyful

Not that close, but it was hard to capture the whole thing. This is the corpse flower at the Huntington Museum and Gardens. The photo was taken on Sunday afternoon; it bloomed on Monday. At the time it was taken, there was no detectable odor.
