I've avoided the "upgrade" thus far and hope I can continue to do so. Like you, I don't want a bunch of extraneous bits and bobs. Just give me an unadorned game and let me play it.

Mine keeps glitching up and freezing my phone. It's really annoying. Also, can someone explain the coins to me? I have reached my limit of 1500, but I can't find out what to do with them. I understand the word radar and switch plus, but for the life of me I don't know what to do with the coins.

I downloaded WWF2 and didn't like the games against the computer so I uninstalled it and reinstalled WWF Classic. A few days ago it automatically switched back to the new version.

I play but the old format.

I use WWF2 only because my “ friends” do too. I do like the feature that lets me sometimes swap without losing a turn. Don’t know what is with the coins, etc, but imagine the swap freebies are connected. I have noticed that it seems very often there are at least 3 of a kind letters and sometimes more, that appear, making it necessary to swap. Also, all vowels or all consenents, which require swaps too.

However, hopefully it keeps my brain alive LOL.

I didn't even know you could swap without losing a turn. I like the old Scrabble-type rules better. More of a challenge.

I play practice mode daily, which is a full game, unlike those silly contests. It makes me a better player because I'm willing to take more risks than if I was playing a friend.

I play it with a couple friends, and a few strangers from the board. Love it. I just ignore all the weird stuff, free coins, etc.

It says Words Classic on my desktop. I shut down my tablet as usual, and 2 hours later I came back and there it was. All the coins, and other junk mean nothing to me, I just ignore them. As far as the free swap of letters, I'd never use that. Getting all vowels or consonants is part of the challenge. Give me the old game back!

You can use the coins to purchase word radar, swap+, and hindsight, plus some silly graphic things. I didn't even notice the coins until I started getting a notice that I had reached my max, so I bought a few swap+ just to use them up.

Thanks, Biondanonima. I was thinking the coins reaching a max is somehow glitching my phone up. I'll try to figure out how to use them.

When they do the word challenge games (the makers, not the players), and if you want to play straight through, you can use your coins to play right away, otherwise you have to wait 12 or 24 hours (not sure how long) to do the next round.
