When I get done here at KT, it will be yoga time followed by a shower and getting dressed. I have an Etsy package to get ready for mailing and after that plan to go through the hall closet and get it organized before heading down to my studio for the rest of the day. We're having tacos for dinner, so I'll be making low carb tortillas later.

I sprayed the Lupines for aphids w/ Dawn dish soap & water. Will do a little packing. Someone on CL is giving away sod, I might go pick some up for one of the rentals. Shopping for houses on the internet. Haven't decided what I'm making for dinner.

I am having an unexpected day off. The medical procedure that was scheduled for today was cancelled late yesterday due to my pretesting EKG 'abnormalities'. So I am at a loss for what to do with myself. It is too hot to even just sit outside and enjoy the solitude, I have no puzzle to work on and daughter has us stocked with things for several meals ahead. I am feeling 'antsy' and just can't settle on anything. So I am here for a few minutes till I have to 'move' again to wander around the house like a lost puppy.

Lisa, we have 88 as well. So far, I rode my bike around the lake, then later, after the bike shop was open rode there to get my chain checked. Yes, I need a new one before my summer tour begins.

Now, I need to go to the AAA office, and order some Euro's, mail a box, back to the bike shop to get a box for taking my bike on the plane with me next week, return some tiles we didn't use and pick up some groceries before coming back home.

Then start laying out all the crap/LOL/stuff I plan on taking with me.

Working. When I get home, I'll be listing at least a dozen items on FB BST sites, doing laundry, and cleaning my bathrooms (which I didn't do on Monday, my regularly scheduled bathroom cleaning day).

In the 60’s here. Went for blood work and bone density tests today. Have workers here, they ripped out the bathroom yesterday, now comes the rebuilding part of it. No more avacado green!

Going to work soon. Also waiting to hear about my dad. He's back in the hospital on a vent, which he never wanted. Brothers should be in a meeting now with doctor to discuss my dad's care. He was in rehab for a recent stroke and had another one in the rehab facility, which no one noticed until my brothers came up there to see him after the nurse called to say he hadn't eaten in two days. He hadn't eaten because he had another stroke and was non responsive, according to my brothers.

I'm off of work and spent the morning watering in some alfalfa pellets. We have the supplies to make some stepping stones with leaf imprints so might do that later. A nap for sure, I hardly got any sleep last night. I just couldn't get comfortable.

Change of plan: instead of organizing hall closet, I am organizing large trunk in studio that holds all of my shipping supplies. It is a mess!

I am working on some furniture pieces that I am repairing and refinishing for my daughter. She really wanted these pieces and bought them used. It's some things that Ikea discontinued a few years ago but she has some matching things to go with it. I am almost finished with everything though and I will be glad when I am done.

Not much.

Lunched with 3 friends at newly opened Taco Mama. Then Home Goods for new set of sheets. Nap shortly. And get ready for Mexican Train tomorrow.

I started out to work in the storage building that I am cleaning....full of debris and silt and all kinds of nasty stuff.....was going to do it as soon as I finished feeding the horses, but as I was filling the water troughs, my husband came home....didn't go shrimping, but got a call to pick up a load of pet food at the shelter, so we unloaded that. Then I cooked lunch, and started out to work in the building...took a pic of Emery, put it here and on FB. Fed the koi and goldfish. Came in for a few minutes to see what Dr. Phil was doing, and now I am going back out to work in the building.

It was a perfect spring day, sunny and in the 70s...went for a 5 mile hike with nice overlooks with a friend then we went for a leisurely lunch and then hit the ice cream joint before heading home. A great day all around.

I'm trying to sort through a couple of closets, a blanket chest and cedar chest, wanting to get rid of some stuff in anticipation of moving into town sometime soon. I made the huge mistake of going through a bookcase upstairs first. What to keep? What to pass to which child/grandchild? What to give away? Who to give it to? That applies to the whole project. I'm completely overwhelmed and have put in a sos call to my nearest daughter for help.

We went to my hubby's doctor appointment. He's been having light-headed/dizzy spells and falling. His blood pressure was checked 3 times....one while laying down, one sitting up and one standing. His pressure is too low and the doctor stopped his high blood pressure medication. If that doesn't help, I am to call her and she will cut his cholesterol medication. We both go in July to see her again. Stopped on the way home at the Italian Oven and had an early supper.

Got a text from DGS1 at 11:30 last NIGHT, inviting me to a special "signing day" ceremony at his high school at 11:30 this AM. They had already had the National Signing Day back in April for various NCAA sports; this one was for sports that don't participate in signing day but they had them all sign something - have no idea what it was.

There were about 10-12 students up on the stage, wearing t-shirts from their colleges-to-be. One at a time, they came up to a big table, their families/friends/supporters/fellow sports team mates then joined them, and they signed a paper. They they took a microphone and made a brief statement, mainly thanking parents/coaches/teammates/God for getting them to this stage in their athletic career. Various friends and family members were there as well as some fellow students who didn't have a final exam.

DGS wisely wrote down his statement, so he did not forget anyone. He had his mother (father was busy being the photographer, as usual), his squash coach, 4 men whom he has been regularly playing against for the past 2-3 years (no junior players in the entire state who play at his level - these mainly young men, have been very kind to play with him and were just lovely to leave work to come to this), and the entire high school squash team which he formed this year and took to the High School Nationals in Philadelphia. I was so proud of the roar of applause/hoots/etc when his name was announced. He will be playing squash for an Ivy League University team - quite an accomplishment for a boy who only started the occasional private lesson about 18 months ago - always small group with mixed sex/ability - and who only twice traveled out of the midwest to tournaments (too expensive). All the others participating are going to small, regional colleges on athletic scholarships.

But I'm even more proud of his final report card - all A's and A+'s, four in AP courses, including the BC Calculus and Discrete Math (one usually must take BC Calc the year before Discrete Math - he had to get special permission from the Math Dept chair to take them simultaneously. His grades and test scores got him into his Ivy, not just his squash game. And then later today, it was announced that he would be one of the Valedictorians. Now at his public magnet HS, there are so many really smart kids who are so successful, that anyone who has maintained a 4.0 GPA (unweighted) over the entire 4 years, is a Valedictorian - there are usually between 100-150. Still, it's a very nice achievement. He's a heck of a nice young man - thoughtful, courteous, friendly and utterly charming. But I'm not at ALL prejudiced, being his grandmother!

Graduation is Friday AM - I'm being picked up at 8AM - this is VERY early for me as I must do breathing treatments and due to pulmonary problems, everything I do takes longer than it once did. But I would not miss it for the world - have my transport chair to make it possible with all the walking.

Recovered enough to go get a manicure late this afternoon. I'm not totally beat. Tomorrow, must get up early again and get to rehab by 9:30 as I had to move my Fri standing hair app't to Thurs at 11AM due to graduation - we're all going out to a lovely lunch afterwards.

I will collapse Sat after morning pulmonary rehab....

Norar, get some boxes. One for each child/grand child. As you sort, put items in the box for the child/grand child you choose. When the box is full, call the child, and have them get it. Don't take anything back. If there is something they don't want, they need to handle it, toss, donate, give to sibling, what ever.

Keep sorting, and filling boxes.

Went to pick up some fresh trout filets our financial advisor gave us (and cooked some tonight for dinner - yum!). Went for a pedi, then to our GP for a follow up to my physical. He said DH and I are the two of the healthiest patients he has!

Next up was a couple of short errands while in town, found some Chacos and a pair of shorts on sale, then later DH and I went to work out at our gym. It rained most of the day so I couldn’t do anything outside. Tomorrow is a little garden work.

Trying to sew an Irish dance costume for my granddaughters American Girl doll. Just taking a break. Frustrated with trying to thread my machine needle with invisible thread. It really is, well, invisible! Grrr!

louise, I've done that. I feel like I'm creating the emperor's new clothes when I use that thread. It's great as a repairing thread-just grab the pile and sew everything at one time, never having to change out the thread ;)

My eldest grandson is hoping to get a summer job. He asked me to pick him up after school and take him to follow up on some applications he submitted last week. So here I am in the car waiting for him while he visits some local businesses. Happy to help him out and keeping my fingers crossed that he has some luck.

When my kids were teens and looking for summer employment, they were too fussy about where they wanted to work. My husband had to literally walk my daughter in for an interview at the law courts for an interview. She had a part time job at a fast food joint and wanted to stay there. That was 20 years ago and she is still at the courthouse and in a very prominent position.

Took adult daughter to airport so she could go visit her sister in Texas. Stopped at a shopping center on the way back. Didn't buy anything. Did a little weeding and cleaning up in the hosta garden before noon and it gets hotter. Laundry this afternoon and a nap! Little dog to vet late today due to grass allergies. She got a steroid shot and I was told to keep giving the benadryl 3 times a day. Not exciting, but kept me out of trouble.

I am in Israel and flying to Turkey today, in the airport now waiting 2 more hours, we got here 4 hours early. We had an amazing time in Israel. We enjoyed the religious sights in Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Nazareth, but also enjoyed the beach, nightlife, biking, windsurfing and shopping in Tel Aviv.

Off to DGS's graduation in a few minutes. This is VERY early for me to be up and functioning!!!

The sun is shining and the forecast is for 90's today in the Wash DC area. I am heading out soon for a walk around the neighborhood. I am hoping to pick up some strawberries at the farm. The crop is just starting to come in this week and with all this rain, I am not sure if there will be any. The access road may be too muddy to drive on. I will call ahead. If I get the strawberries, we will have fresh strawberry pies. Another option for today is going to the architectural salvage store. Always interesting to browse.

Spent the day digging up my deck pots. 90% garlic chives. They over winter in pots really well! Loaded them ALL in the SUV & planted them @ a rental. I was out in the baking sun ALL day. Met one of my new renters, she's moving in with her house mate today. She'd just been in a motorcycle accident. Had bandages on both arms, a black eye and a swollen knee. The guy that almost hit her, she laid the bike down, got away.....left the scene.

Came home to the house being inspected, radon test (passed 3.5, 4 is suspect any higher and we would have had to pay for a vent). I talked non-stop about all the plants in the garden, what the area was like, to the new buyers.

I thought I would check in that I made 3 strawberry pies yesterday, one for me and DH, one each for my daughters. My grandson used his mother's phone to text me this photo with the comment, "This pie is unbelievable".

I finished edging the hedge border this morning that I began on Friday. One down, two to go. Then I hopped on the mower and mowed everything, finishing up at 3pm. The grass was high and rain is expected again either over night or tomorrow morning. I love my Toro Zero Turn mower but it's not the greatest on damp grass, makes skid marks, doesn't cut as well. Then I like to use the self-propelled Lawn Boy mower with the grass catcher bag around the garden area. Lots of walking, stopping to empty the bag, walking, stopping to empty the bag, etc.

Needless to say my feet and back are achy tonight. Took two Bayer Back and Body earlier. Also my skin feels warm - too much sun today. One of the outside cats was AWOL for 8:30p supper, showed up a little while ago at 10pm. so took him outside and around to the cellar in the dark. Saw my first lightning bug of the season!

My neighborhood celebrated our centennial today. Music, food, parade, fireworks... It was nice. Found out my voice is distinctive?! I go to three different Starbucks, and the one at work, I understand they know my drink by seeing me, but the other two know my voice from the drive through, which was weird enough, but I went inside today, and they STILL knew it. So weird! How?! Do they have GPS on me? Best what we are doing today? Son got his University acceptance letter today. Fantastic place for his major. He'll get to live in the mountains (Cherokee National Forest and he loves to ski). And he's going away. So glad he'll experience some place else. I loved traveling in my childhood, gave me a good perspective; I want even more for him. So happy in our house today!

Planted a nice boxwood someone threw out to the curb. It's quite large and pretty but I give it a 50/50 chance of surviving. It was out of the ground a day at least and it was hot today. Watered the heck out of it. Once before I found two boxwoods bare-rooted laying by the curb. We planted them and one lived and is still growing. After that, we hiked the Appalachian Trail in 88 degree temps. The dogs jumped in the creek.
