What Are You Doing Today?
Comments (18)Washing clothes. Got up too early this morning after staying up late keeping tabs on the election results. Went to bed when it was obvious who was going to win. Got up for an early doctor's appointment. My foot/ankle/leg has been killing me for 8 days now. Went hiking at Natural Bridge last week. The lift that takes you up on the mountain was closed for the season, so we walked 3 miles up the mountain and came down the shorter route, 1.25, which was straight down. I twisted my ankle a couple times. Lot of hard rock/rock stairway going down. I'm short so it was really scary trying to jump down those huge steps. Slid down most of them on my butt because I was afraid of breaking something. But did jump down some of them and my ankle kind of gave out a couple times and twisted. Nothing broken, but the doctor thinks I tore a ligament. MRI next week and possible surgery depending on how bad it is. They gave me an ankle brace. No light duty, thank goodness, we are already short at work and about to get shorter! Came home and couldn't stay awake, took a three hour or so nap. Sipping decaf coffee and eating the last of the banana nut muffins I made Sunday....See MoreWhat Are You Doing Today?
Comments (39)Working on the taxes this morning. When that is done, I plan to photograph some jewelry so that I can get it listed in my Etsy shop. I didn't realize how much I had sitting around until I sorted through it all the other night. Hoping to take a long walk this afternoon provided it isn't raining too hard. Walked in the rain the other day (about a mile) and it was nice with my coat and umbrella. Saw some out walking who were soaked; they must have been caught unprepared or else they just didn't care. Happy birthday, JoanEileen!...See MoreWhat Are You Doing Today?
Comments (22)I am happy. Went and talked to the owner of a little mom and pop cafe I go to. He gets a lot of regular trade on weekends. I explained my dilemma, Said I didn't want to ruffle feathers but wanted to keep it simple and not have to plan a menu etc. We compromised on the time so things would be a bit slower. Everyone can order whatever they want from the full menu. I offered to figure in the money each person would owe at the end of the meal but he said they could easily split the check with the system they have in place. Yay! I am limiting the number of attendees to what they can handle. The number is just a few people under the maximum we normally get anyway. I stated it clearly on the announcement so now we will see what happens. Came home, typed up the details and sent it out. Done....See MoreWhat did you do today, and is it warm or cold out?
Comments (28)It was relatively "warm" (high 40's) yesterday and today. Took 2 mile walks both days. I finished cleaning up the flower gardens - I'd waited until the birds had picked the coneflowers and beebalm clean - and then repotted and root pruned nearly all of my potted fruit trees; still have 2 to do, but I ran out of soil. Managed to lose my pruners, too, wondering if I dropped them into a pot before replacing the tree. Sold my indoor bike trainer which I had never ever set up. I had imagined using it while I watched a movie or even a bike race on TV, but I much prefer the elliptical for indoors, and walking or jogging outside weather permitting best of all. Plus my DD left her small lifecycle also when she moved out. I am hoping that I remembered what I paid for it correctly - I think I sold it for the same price. As long as I never find the receipt I will be content! Last thing today was hanging most of the Christmas lights and set up an artificial tree and put lights on it, on the front porch. I didn't get that all finished - I think I need another strand of lights on it, and didn't get the few glittery ornaments on it. I'll do that tomorrow if it is not raining hard. I'll put up the hanging stars on the porch and in the windows closer to the holiday....See MoreOklaMoni
