Will a pocket door work? We are changing from a door that opens into the closet to a pocket door. This means completely moving the entrance from the south to the east AND re-configuring (ie:new) the whole closet. We thought about changing the entrance even more... from inside the master bath to outside, in the bedroom, but decided we like it in the master bath. It's nice to have everything right there and we will include storage for some bathroom items. TP, towels, etc.

Looking at your most recent photo, I would not put drapes on the window by your front door. They will interfere with the door and light switches. Especially with light weight linen, the drapes will blow out into the front door when you try to open and close it. You can just keep the mini blinds on them. Then either go ahead with the drapes for the sliders and other window, or for a cleaner look just remove the vertical slider blinds and keep the mini blinds on each window. It doesn't look like sun or privacy is needed there with your deep alcove in front of the house.

Unless it has been pre-shrunk, linen typically shrinks 10% after washing and going through the dryer, and it also tends to shift to one side slightly, depending on the weave and the twist of the yarn. I have bought linen that does not wrinkle, and again, this depends on the weave and the twist. This type of linen is difficult to find, but it makes the softest and most comfortable shirts, and I simply hang them to dry when they come out of the washer. The spin cycles gets almost all of the water out, and so they dry quickly. The last linen shirts that I made have to be ironed, but only lightly, if they are hung to dry from the washer. I made a lot of linen clothes in the 1970s when no one else (that I know of) was making pre-shrunk linen clothes, and if you bought linen clothes at a store back then, the tag would say to dry clean it, which is ridiculous. The only linen clothes that should be dry cleaned are ones that are lined - the rest should be made with pre-shrunk fabric. I made my brother a linen vest lined and backed with cotton batiste, but I was careful enough when making it that he could wash it and line dry it. Both the cotton and linen were pre-shrunk. I made him matching slacks and both the vest and slacks had to be ironed, since they were suit-weight linen. I did not line the slacks, and so they could be washed. Like cotton, linen is a cellulosic fiber, which means that it is hydrophilic and therefore stronger when wet. This is why it is better to wash it than to dry clean it - the dry cleaning chemicals will weaken the fibers. I have bought a few old Irish linen tablecloths that I originally intended to use for making clothes, but I have not been able to bring myself to cut them up!
