Comments (8)The day before yesterday the Tour de France went near or through the city of Lourdes in southern France. These pictures of the city are from the train as we went through several years ago. There is a Catholic shrine somewhere in the city that is believed to have healing powers. A week or so later, as we were flying out of nearby Pau, some people checking-in in front of us had all flown in that morning, had each traveled to Lourdes, filled a large plastic container with the "healing waters" and were flying out the same day. I got the impression that they were on some sort of missionary trip, to bring the waters to others unable to make the trip....See MoreI'll Show You Mine if You Show Me Yours Sat Mar 26

Falling Spring Mill, Missouri Ozarks
The water chute is missing. It brought water to top of this overshot wheel. The foundation for the chute is present, but not visible in this view.
The gear set and belt pulley inside the mill. There's not much room in there.
When this mill was first built, it sat in the open without a building. Later, it was enclosed and the building fits snugly around the drive parts. There is no room for additional equipment as might be found in other mills. Its dangerous in there when the mill is in motion. There is a vertical slot in the front wall through which the drive belt was passed and all driven equipment sat outside this mill - very unusual. The flow of this spring is very reliable to the extent that when this mill was not busy grinding grain, it was ran an alternator that supplied electric power to this homestead,
