Firefox has its own "safe mode" might want to try it this will tell you if an add-on is causing a problem here is how to access safe mode in firefox: Click start>Programs> now look for (Mozilla) put your mouse over mozila to the right in a drop down thing click firefox (safe mode) see if will start this way.

I thought I had written a thank you here, but apparently it didn't go thru, I do appreciate your interest in helping anyone that asks for help, no matter how simple it may be, and if a person did this sort of thing daily, which heaven forbid doesn't happen, maybe I could remember how to do some of those things, but as it is, guess I will just remain this way, and deal with things on a need to know basis, I am no geek, but try and solve things myself if possible, and I can remember what to do!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. With FireFox, I can have Conversations as my home page on the Internet and then right click on my Quilting forum bookmark and choose "Open in New Tab," and then I will have both pages open and can easily move back and forth between them. The original opening of them will still take time for people with dial-up, but at least, once they are open, you won't have to wait for them to open again if you need to switch back and forth. This may be possible with the Internet Explorer browser, too, but it is so long since I used it that I don't know.

I am making a comment on this old thread because I am having problems with my account and it appears that Tamara might be following this question. I can't see My Houzz or my settings--only on an email notifying me of activity does it appear--and when I went there it wasn't accurate . My avatar was gone and none of my bookmarks were there. Also it said I was following a bunch of people I've never heard of! I've also been trying to resolve the issue of the ad in the upper left corner that interfere with seeing the name of the OP of a thread. Please HOUZZ, send help! I didn't even see anything about receiving messages so I'm not sure if that is enabled or not.
