Mixing Oriental Rugs with Sisal Rugs? Opinions Please
Comments (6)Another yes. It's a very Bunny Williams/Ben Pentreath/Schuyler Samperton mix : ) . I have mostly Persian/tribal rugs but needed a round rug for the tower room in the new house so went with jute, They also look good layered, with the Persian rug on top. Do we get to see pictures? Please??...See MoreHelp with Rug Placement, please. Also, does this new rug even match?
Comments (10)I prefer the second rug layout. It's a gracious entryway so it's nice to have the rug fill the space a bit more, plus you always want to give breathing room around a rug rather than squishing it up against a wall or piece of furniture. We generally steer clear of light toned entry rugs for practical reasons so you may want to consider that. And lastly, a flat weave rug is more suitable for a space like this than a cut pile, which is what your rug appears to be (maybe I'm reading the images incorrectly?). They're more durable and easier to clean....See MoreHow to coordinate furniture with oriental rug- please help!
Comments (59)Ooooh, I really like that multi-dot fabric for the Martha Washington chair! Unexpected and dare I say, a little flirty? I understand your misgivings about the solid navy velvet for the pair. That means it's not "the one" - so give it no more thought. It is so tempting to "Wild Chairy" the pair, but it gives me pause. Of all your chairs, I think the Martha Washington would be the best nominee for the treatment. My suggestion is to recover the channel back chair in the solid red first. We know the current fabric isn't right. Even though you've noted the upholstery on your other pieces is worn, at least we know they have the general colors that we want to see. The navy pair even has the small scale print. So, my feeling is that recovering the channel back will give us a good idea of how everything will play together - before we dive into reupholstering the other pieces, whose colors are really very similar to where we're headed. (I know that was a poorly constructed sentence and I hope you get my meaning.) With that said, should the solid red channel back work (which, I know it will), here's my annotated suggestion : And a collage:...See MoreNeed help with pool orientation/placement!
Comments (7)Thanks for your comments, we plan to have a 4’ walkway around the back of the pool that will be at minimum 4’ from fence for planter area. I plan to remove all existing landscaping in this area and start over with pool-friendly plants. Totally agree on fence, we will have the entire area secured by a 5’ pool fence. The particular pool we chose was offered a lot a significant discount due to being in inventory. Thanks!...See MoreSina Sadeddin Architectural Design
