It's hard to understand how the builder can just 'ask' people these things -- doesn't he have architectural drawings and renderings, or photos of completed projects so people can make their decisions?

That blue doesn't work in any way with the red roof and red brick. Stick to a deep expresso color or a dark, warm, charcoal. You might be able to use a deep navy for the front door if you have expresso trim. Use your royal blue color for accents inside if you like that color.

The refrigerator cannot be next to the wall like you show. You need 6 or 7 inches b/w the wall and refrigerator to allow the doors to open fully for access and cleaning. The bar you show in the upper right, across from the refrigerator, cannot be any more than 9 or 10 inches deep. You need a minimum of a 42-inch aisle b/w the refrigerator and the counter edge across the aisle. Remember, too, that with the exterior door there, that will be a busy aisle. Normally, I wouldn't put anything there, but you need additional storage space for pots/pans, prepping tools/bowls, small appliance, etc., so the shallow bases + uppers provide it inside the Kitchen where you need it most. You need workspace b/w the sink and corner. 36" is the minimum, but there's no way that's going to happen, so you will need to utilize the space around the corner b/w the corner and range. You also need at least 42" b/w the wall and the end of your peninsula. If you really want counter seating, then you will have to extend into the Dining Room, there isn't enough space to put it in the Kitchen like you show. Any counter there will make it very difficult to access cabinets (or DW) that are along the wall and under the counter. Even in the pic you posted, those cabs will not be easily accessed. It would be one thing if you had a lot of storage space elsewhere and could afford to void out that corner, but you don't. Maybe you could get a portable island with a small "perch" overhang that is drop-leaf. It could be stored in a corner in the Dining Room when not in use. Honestly? You're trying to cram a lot into a small space. Your Dining Room is so close that it doesn't make sense to provide counter seating when it doesn't really fit. I don't know if you even have room for a table + counter seating like you show. You need 60" b/w the table and counter with seating (48" to 54" if no seats at the counter). You also need at least 36" b/w the table and each wall...and that's just for people to slide/squeeze by the seats when someone is seated there. The vitrine...I would not put a vitrine there unless you are obsessive about keeping the inside very, very neat. Note that in the pic you posted it's not used for real storage, it's used for displaying a few items. What you need is pantry/food storage. Make that a series of shallow, tall pantry cabinets and you'll be much happier in the long run. I don't think the layout you posted is true to the spacing, unless I read the measurements incorrectly (which is possible since they were blurry and difficult to decipher). In the end, it's up to you. All we can do is give you advice. It's your Kitchen, so do what you want in the end. At least when you decide what to do you will be making an informed decision based on the pros/cons we've mentioned here and you will go in with your eyes open knowing what you're sacrificing to get your "wants/nice to haves" (as opposed to "needs"). Not sure what your question really is - but I would say that the samples you picked are nice! Very different!! I’d leave the niche the same as the wall and let the shower pan shine.
