Comments (42)This pair of fantastic Milo Baughman lounge chairs from chairish. I have a single of the same chair that I picked up years ago for cheap ($350) and our new house was crying out for a pair. I've been looking for years but didn't want to pay the newly inflated prices of recent years as mid mo has gotten so hot. This pair was reasonably priced so I decided to get both and paid $1500. They were sold with a vile red 90s cheap fabric so I was planning on new fabric, but when I got them home and tore off the fabric, I got to the fantastic original mustard velvet and original Thayer coggin tags. Which was a total and welcome surprise. This color works so well in our mid century home. Unfortunately the velvet is in bad condition.... so I'll still be refinishing. Still a good deal as restoration hardware has just reissued a bunch of almost the same style baughman chairs for about $4000 each. But I love a good refinishing project:)...See MoreHas anyone purchased a Codel entry door recently?
Comments (7)I went with a custom order Codel door in Cinnamon. Expect a loong lead time! I ordered my door from Home Depot in Dec 2021. Arrived Feb 2022 custom built and stained in Tacoma. Installers were not available and had to wait another month while door sat in garage which sucked. Build quality and feel is excellent. I purchased a $200+ Thermatrue fiberglass door off the shelf for my garage entrance. This $2k+ fiberglass door is almost 3x the weight. The packaging was much better than Thermatrue so there was no damage during delivery. There were some dark smudges that might be staining overspray near the top where the insulation hits the door but not noticeable when door is closed. The peep hole was not necessary as the obscured glass is still peekable. The installation trim details could have been improved. The height of the exterior trip sits below my siding depth...a tad sloppy. Overall, I'm happy with the product....See MoreUpdating recently purchased mid century modern home exterior?
Comments (25)That's a wonderful first home and looks well maintained - congratulations. From the examples you've been given, I would go with one of the darker greens, or darker brown. My own single story MCM is dark unsweetened chocolate brown - all of it, no brick other than built in planters in front - and in searching back through neighborhood photos, has been this color since built 1955. I have no plans to change it. I like the way it blends into the landscape as though a part of it, and not something just dropped into place from somewhere else ;0) I think blue would have that effect on your home with the treed background. One thing the PO had done here was paint the underside of the soffits warm white. I think if the darker color, it would appear a little dark when inside looking out...you might want to keep that in mind when painting along your parking and basketball hoop area and keep the part the overhangs the brick light colored on the underside. No one will notice from outdoors....See MoreBertazzoni package? Have you purchased recently/recommend?
