Believe it or not, i wash sleeping bags and comforters in my tiny Bosch Axxis. The front loaders can hold a lot more than you think. I did a demo when I bought the Bosch and they had 17 towels stitched together at the store. Me and my friend, who ended up buying the same machine, were shoving those towels in there and could not believe it. This was a while ago (5 years ago) and people didn't think the tiny 23" X 23"X 33" machine would hold more than a towel. It can wash comforters AND sleeping bags. Even a Northface polyfill one, which are notorious for not getting wet. Go to an appliance store and start shoving a sleeping bag or a comforter in the washers and see what fits. Seriously. It sounds crazy but I'm so happy I did. I was switching from a super capacity top loader, so I could wash anything in it. I wanted to make sure I wasn't getting stuck with a tiny little machine that could only wash hand towels. I think Snyder Diamond and other high end places even have things like the towel demo sometimes. It's good to know where you are going to dump some serious cash!!

Because i have my bed higher than it's supposed to be(i have 2 box springs,the mattress and then a memory foam on top of that) It's also queen size,but i make my quilts for either king or even bigger.I keep laying the blocks out on the bed til i get the size i want/need.I like mine to fit more like a bedspread,so all the box springs are covered,then i also make my own bed skirts.Forgot to say that i also usually have at least 3 borders.Works for me!! We would use it in summer months, but then might be better to get the guilt in the same pattern as the duvet." You know, if you don't need it for warmth, maybe you should try the quilt instead? I say this because my wool comforter is currently folded up at the end of my bed - it doesn't currently fit in my small linen closet and I haven't come up with another storage location yet. It's sort of a pain having it there day in and day out when we don't use it, so I probably wouldn't choose this route just for looks. What is the name of this duvet cover, do you know? My sister is working on her bedroom and I think this pattern/color might work really well for her. Thanks!

There are a million designs to choose from. How exciting! If you are making twin size quilts, the boys can use them well into their teenage years. I suggest you make it in colors that will work even when they are teenagers and then you make them another quilt when they go away to college! If using primary colors, I'd pick one or two and pick different shades within the same colors. I love med and dark blues with a white background or blues with browns with white background. Vasu
