Need help picking neutral (whole) home interior paint color
Comments (101)Comedy of errors (only after we had a few drinks was it comedic) 1. We greatly underestimated the effort to paint textured walls, especially on the ceiling. That and we're 15 years older than many of the projects we've done the past. 2. Turns out we got the wrong color paint. I'm not sure why I had a different color paint stuck in my head and even though I checked color swatches I still got it wrong. And now that we're going to pay someone to do it I definitely want to make sure the color is right. Only after I came back to this post did I realize I gave the store the wrong color. We're going to suck it up and pay someone to do it which is good because that also includes trim and doors. Although now I have to take a week off of work. Good news: we can donate the paint to Habitat for Humanity ReStore....See MorePainting whole house one neutral color? BM Dove Wing
Comments (8)I like White Dove. And I was going to do that, but I did a small sample on the wall. And it looks like the same color as the primer. So, I decided to go with Dove Wing, which is light but doesn’t look white. Looks like a very very light beige. And I chose Super White for trim because I wanted a true white and it is bright but I figure it will probably fade anyway. I didn’t want any white that looks dirty for my trim. When I tried White Dove, it actually looks like a great color for trims, which I wouldn’t think so from the color chip - it looks like a super beigey white to me on the chip. But looks like a white on the wall. I might have went with White Dove if I didn’t already started my trim color....See MoreIdeas for Interior paint for whole house
Comments (5)A home feels more spacious and restful when there is a fluid color decor scheme. This will not be achieved with high contrast accent walls. You can use slightly darker toned paint colors to play with visual depth, like painting a wide shallow bedroom wall a deeper color -will make the room seem bigger by causing the wall to recede. When we shopped for homes, we noticed a lot of folks think a wall color "makes the room" it does not. A painted wall does not equate to nice design, and same goes for a "bed in the bag" ensemble. Painted walls should be a background for your furnishings, not the focus. What furniture are you bringing in to the space? (Replace the builder boob lights in the hallway) As far as deciding on decor..... Select both of your favorite colors and their different shades. Mix them with neutral toned large pieces, . Disregard the trend colors you see in stores. Next year there will be different colors, And the yesr after that....See Morebest whole house interior color
Comments (0)Hi, I will be moving in a few months into a pretty much open concept colonial. What are some new light neutral paint colors for an interior home. I currently have SW Agreeable grey in my current home and love it but was thinking of trying something new for my new home. Any suggestions? Thank you...See Morelesleycurl
