Removing an Invasive Vine

Hello Peeps, I have a jasmine vine that is taking over a bed I now want to use for something else. I've pruned it way back short and am thinking to inject Round-Up, using a syringe, into the thickest stems.

My question:

Will the RU only progress to the roots of the jasmine vine or will it have an effect on other plants in that bed that I want to keep?

With a maturing mesquite tree now shading that bed from harsh western sun, the bed will make a nice herb garden I think. I have thyme started and a beautiful peach tree I planted this time last year is thriving - 14 ripening peaches!!

I have dug up some nice pups of the jasmine, where it was possible without getting too close to other roots. The other really nice plants in that bed are pony tail palms....love that plant.

Disclaimer: I know there are RU haters and RU appreciators. I am of the latter camp. Unload if you must but I'm ok with RU for specialized weed management.

Thanks for any help. Mary
