Oak trim, painted chair rail, ideas needed!

We are moving into our new home soon. In the living room, the chair rail is painted white...and it kind of drives me crazy that it's not the same as the trim. What is the easiest solution for this?
We do not want to paint oak trim white, so I'm thinking painting the chair rail and area underneath white would look odd.
I'm afraid if we remove it ourselves, we won't be able to get the wall patched up/smooth correctly without hiring someone, which with new house we aren't in position to do.
We are painting the room SW Kilim Beige. Someone suggeted painting the rail and area underneath it SW Double Latte...thoughts?
Photo is from the listing.
Also pictured, the furniture and art going into the room. I have throw pillows in colors that match the art, and am looking for an area rug with dark brown.
Thanks in advance for your help!
