I'll Show You Mine If You Show Me Yours - Wed 5/9
Yesterday we went to an old home that has been turned into a show house for the month...the interior was used as an art gallery showing off the works of local artists and the exterior was used as a "living catalog" for their wholesale bulb business. So wonderful to see the beautiful woodwork and stained glass on the interior of the home and the grounds were beautiful, laden with so many blooms! I'll be posting more shots over the next couple of days for sure.

8 years agoHubby was contacted by the Ride for Dads motorcycle charity run to speak at their Media blitz. They are a huge advocate for research, detection and treatment of prostate cancer.
He is an Honorary Ride Captain this year, and will ride (as a passenger) on the June 2nd ride. His urologist's nurse said I can ride with her dad as well!!!! Yaaay!
All kinds of media were there yesterday, he was presented with a vest (to be exchanged for the correct size).
This year's donation was almost $102k for research and education!!!
We knew 2 people when we went, and left feeling that we met a bunch of new friends. He had a number of people come up and ask about his experience, and one man was just diagnosed a month ago. I spoke at length with a woman who's brother was diagnosed last week.

Comments (5)Wings spread. A character in a play/dance/puppet-show we saw last summer in Maine. The story was people gained wisdom from mother nature's creations: the fish, the tree, the panther, the eagle (shown above), and the moon, and all was right with the world. But people turned away from these wisdoms, and pursued fire and pleasures and selfishness, and this weakened mother nature, and she was likely to die unless people turned back to the wisdoms. However the play ran late due to a rain delay, and we had to leave at about the time mother nature was all wrapped up, seemingly dead, being carried away. Comments (17)A new little garden I added to the backyard this morning. The little red rose bush was a "giveaway" from my local nursery. They had a bargain bin to choose from - things mostly given up on for this year. But the little rose bush looked to be in pretty good shape and it has bloomed quite nicely in the past few weeks since I got it! 8 years agoThese poor shrubs are by my brush pile, never been watered or anything in 20 years. Still so beautiful.
8 years agoIt's springtime at our place in the mountains, the wild violets are blooming in our stone driveway.
