Need advice on how to nurture roses after JB Damage
Comments (4)Many people do prune, and it probably works just fine. But, there are nutrients in those canes the plant can use to regenerate the foliage, and any green wood is using sunlight to create chlorophyll to feed the plant. If you just can't stand the sight of the bare stems, prune them. If you can avert your attention to somewhere else and leave them alone, do that. There isn't a whole lot of difference between dealing with the JB damage and that from saw fly or even light deer feeding. All three eliminate the foliage and leave the plant looking like it's dead. Keep it watered and fed to encourage new growth and flowers. I'd bet not pruning them should result in a faster rebound. Kim...See MoreHelp! water damage on hardwood floor that's on concrete slab
Comments (3)ist thing is not to panic. Just keep drying it out and see if the buckling settles down. If its prefinished it pretty easy to get some boards replaced. If its site finished you'll most likely have to resand the entire area. It can sometimes take several weeks for all the moisture to leave. I don't think the mold issue is of big concern. The main thing is to let area dry out and see what hsppens....See Moresanding and refinishing wood floors after water damage- round 2
Comments (7)"If I am missing something, please let me know. " Have the moisture content of the wood tested. Everyone seems to want a quick fix for hardwood floors that get wet, and it simply does not work. If you sand cupped wood that is damp, the cupping is reversed when the boards finally dry out. And then you need to finish them again, removing more of the wood. A good wood moisture meter should be able to tell you if the area in question has the same moisture content as other parts of the floor that did not get wet....See MoreRe-doing attic bathroom after water damage
Comments (7)Start by getting some LED lighting that does not heat up the space everytime the lights are on . Since it is an attic bathroom makes sure you have a good exhaust fan that is actually vented to the outside. Not sure what you want tochange but in such a small space all that dark wood is gobbling up light so I would paint it .A couple of towel hooks instead of all the towel bars would be good. How many people use this space? Decluttering the vanity space would be good. I can’t quite figure out the layout where the louvered doors are....See Morekenma
