Mantle design help
Hi I just got this new screen that I love but struggling In how to pull the whole look together. The speaker in the middle is coming off and thinking about a small clock to go on the right Any suggestions would be appreciated:)

Comments (10)That is one imposing fireplace. Have you thought of painting it? I never recommend painting things like brick or woodwork, but this looks so dominate. Unless there is other brick in the house, I don't see what the wall of brick relates to. I do see brick outside though in your second picture. When the wood grate is in pace, does it still point out onto the hearth? You could put tallish vases on each side of the hearth. I think I'd put largish pictures along the ledge for variety. There are ceiling mounted tracks that can be installed to hang pictures from. That might be something to think about. 6 years agoI don't think your mantel is wide enough to add decor along with the TV. See how much extra width the one below has?
You could do just the long and low item underneath:
But a quick Houzz and Google search show many designer homes where the TV is alone up there.
I think your screen is fun.
Another idea to add something to the overall look would be to cover existing mantel with a new one, easiest to do if you like the reclaimed barn wood look: How to make a slip covered mantel.

remove everything on it, and try to hide the elec stuff
