I like your place setting. It is really festive and the addition of the plaid napkin really sets it off. But, then, I love plaids, so it is bound to excite. The plates are beautiful. Are they clear glass? Speaking of chargers, several years ago I found the gold and silver leafed chargers at Walmart for 78 cents apiece. What a find was that. The snooty stores sell them for as much as $10 apiece. Ross also had them for alot less. I have 12 of each for any occasion and I have used them alot. I don't know if you can still pick them up or not, but be on the lookout for them at bargain stores if they interest you.

Corelle dishes fit really well. So does traditional porcelain, but I don't wash my old stuff on a regular cycle. I do it separately on glass care. I have some large bowls, too. I've found that thick plates work fine in the front times of the lower rack. Then I put the pots, pans, and other odd shapes toward the rear. My big bowls go in the top dish rack. There is a section of tines with more space that accommodates them. We don't use a bunch unless it's a soup/stew night. Then I can fit them in the bottom, instead of the plates. We're a family of five, so we do accumulate dishes throughout the day. I usually fit everything in there. I also have the third rack for utensils. Maybe that helps with room on the bottom one.

Maybe we should start a TKA forum; there certainly seems to be a lot of people who have had or are having one. There are already good forums out there, though. I don't want to hijack this one with my knee stuff. Good luck to all of us! I did go to town yesterday and looked at BB&B for stoneware to match the Mikasa. I didn't find anything I liked, but have concluded it does need to be a matte finish. My plan is to continue on hobbling through various places that you guys have suggested until I find what I think harmonizes perfectly. You all have given me lots of ideas, and thank you very much. The Mikasa rep I chatted with said they have nothing that will coordinate with Garden Harvest. I asked her about your suggestions, olychick, and she said all of those are glossy. I guess the search will continue. I didn't make it to anywhere but BB&B and Kohl's yesterday. Thanks again, everyone.
