davidrol, The faucet was an American Standard---about twenty years old. It had been slowly falling apart in various ways for some time. We had been putting up with it until now. I am shocked to hear that the hose could not have been full of holes, because when I emptied out the cabinet and turned on the faucet, the hose was leaking at multiple points along the length---kind of like a soaker hose. Unfortunately, the faucet has been put out in the garbage, so I can't offer a post-mortem autopsy to provide any other answers. As I said, the faucet must be about twenty years old, so I think it provided adequate service for some time before giving out. This was one of the first faucets made with a pull out sprayer instead of one on the side--quite advanced for the time, but archaic compared to modern faucets. The pull out sprayer portion was made of black plastic. You pressed on the top of the sprayer and the water stream would change to a spray and automatically go back to the regular stream when it was turned off. It stopped going back to the regular stream when it was turned off years ago, so we had to turn it on and off manually ourselves. We had a friend who worked for a plumbing supplies distributor at that time and he was able to get us a good deal on it at the time.

It looks like your current sink is a 50/50 divide with the faucet centered on the divide. If your new sink is 60/40 the divide in it will be either a few inches to the left or right depending on which way you orientate the bowls. If you continue to line up the faucet with the divide it will be it will not be in the same position it is now. How much it will be moved over depends on the overall size of the sink and the size of the divided bowls. It could be enough to have the faucet centered on the window if the smaller bowl is on the right which could make the new divide 3 or 4 inches to the right (I can't tell from the photo how far off the faucet is now from the center of the window). You will need to look at the specs for the sink you are going to use. In my 33 inch Blanco Silgranite 60/40 sink, the large bowl is 18" wide and the small bowl is 12" so the divide is 3" different than in the 50/50 version of the same size sink. With all that being said, there is no rule that says a faucet has to be aligned with the sink divide. You could put it so that it is in line with the middle of the large bowl or the middle of the small bowl and then it would look like the placement was a planned, deliberate decision rather than being a mistake.

I replaced my faulty faucet with another Moen with manual on/off thinking nothing could go wrong. Long story short, after multiple calls to Moen (the handle loosening to the point I was afraid it would fall off) they sent me a replacement "cartridge". Told me the cartridges go bad with these products sitting on the shelf. WHAT?!? I have to pay somebody every time something goes wrong with these Moen products!!!! Never, Never again!!!!!

If your spray head is separate from your faucet ... that kind of faucet is not supposed to work with a hand held spray head on -- the spray head is supposed to get the water flow instead -- or at least that is how mine works. If the sprayer head of the faucet is otherwise "restricted", try washing out any grit that might be stuck in the spray head by running water BACKWARDS through it -- from the outside toward the inside of it. You may even need to rub the outside with your finger as you do so to push any grit stuck in it out.
