It was the chimneys bricks. lol Anyway I had to dig them out of the soil where they were piled many many years ago and then had to knock off the old cement they were put together with. So I wound up breaking some of them and this is what I used the rest for. I made the walkway out of the others that were whole and I actually like the brokens ones the best believe it or not. Hi Bill, Just seeing this post now from last year but somehow I think it will find it's way to you! Whenever I discover a new plant I want to grow, abracadabra, there is Zone 6 Bill telling me how it grows in his garden! LOL I appreciate your knowledgeable input! My neice in NJ has an elderly 8' tall red blooming Camelia in her yard and I took a few cuttings this past June. They appear to have rooted, but we shall see... Am getting ready to put them in their permanent home, but being a full zone less than you am wondering if you have any tips where to put them. I have just finished Camelias, the Gardeners Encyclopedia by Jennifer Trehane, and her best advice is to shelter from winter sun getting on the frozen buds/leaves too early in the am. She recommends a north site, some shade and possible wind protection by fences/walls. She also says drainage is major and that you must avoid root rot. That April Kill of yours looks nice. May I ask where you purchased yours?

Carol, I just got my celery seeds in Friday and Saturday. Meant to plant today but didn't. Will over the next couple of days. I'm hoping that we may have a more normal last freeze date this year and not the extremely late dates we've seen the last 3 years. Going to start some early and then some a few weeks later. So will have back ups in case. Don't want all of my eggs in one basket. The first tomatoes I start will be those I plan to experiment with the grafting on. That way if I kill all of them or set them back some there will still be time to salvage the season. Scott all of OK and most of KS especially the SW corner can see extremes but I feel that over a whole year we see more than most. Also the wind currents created by the mountains influence our weather and temps a lot more than many realize. As you get further east their influence diminishes. I've learned to enjoy and appreciate each day as you never know what tomorrow will bring here. Jay

My husband bought the fountain for my birthday - I set it up this morning and you're right - the cord is about 5' long!! We have a wrap-around porch so I had to go with a 50' cord, since I didn't want to run the cord across the porch. I found a waterproof housing here for extension cords: http://www.aquaticeco.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/product.detail/iid/11529 I have it set up temporarily - just to be sure the pump worked and all. I may get an estimate from an electrician to see how much it would be to have an outlet installed. The fountain was only $100 on sale - I'm sure the electrician will be much more... I just don't understand why they put such short cords on outdoor fountains! Who wants to place such a focal point based on where an outlet is? Grrrr....
