It's hard to tell from the picture what exactly but the bathroom is like. What size is the space with the toilet & sink? If it's small, you could go with a pedestal. They also have some pretty smaller vanities at www.Bertch.com or www.Masterbath.com (Home Depot)Once you decide on vanity or pedestal(get suite so they match), you can decide on tile for the floor. Wainscoting looks great with wallpaper or paint above it with pictures on the wall.I find that picking subtle works best & putting color in the walls or towels,etc. That way I don't tire of it.

Neutrals are fine, or you can pick an accent color to mix in. For the browner bath, I could imagine a green or an orange, for the other you could do a neutral with some pattern for interest. It can be helpful to find a piece of art that you like for each, and then pull a color or two from that... For the first, a few ideas: For the second: Towels and art can go any direction from here. Get some nice art in the space between the sinks (if hand towel placement allows)...

Well, the good news is that your bathroom appears to have a practical layout so you shouldn't have to move any plumbing. If there is a tile store or flooring store that sells tile near you go there and take advantage of their design experience. You won't get that level of assistance in a big box store. We live in a large metro area so we have plenty of options like this, I hope you do near you. We have remodeled four full baths and two powder rooms (two different houses) with their assistance. They are aware of what is popular and how to coordinate their products. You can help vendors and yourself by spending as much time as you have looking at pictures on Houzz and compiling an Ideabook of things you like. After a while you will start to see patterns in the pictures you are saving and will start to refine your style. There are also many articles on Houzz about bathroom remodeling. Since this is your first adventure with this type of project you would benefit from reading as much as you can. Once you educate yourself more and refine your style you can always come back and post again if you're having trouble deciding between a couple choices.

since your tile and floor is already 'busy', I'd go w/paint. Maybe a nice piece of art on that portion of the wall? If you go w/a light wall color, try one of these darker tones on the ceiling. I think I like going w/the pink/blush tone. With something like Night Shade on the ceiling. then some art w/these colors for the wall or, how about these? Socialite on the ceiling, dreamy white walls if you want grays, try some of these. bring in some art w/grays/blacks/whites, but one bold color pop what's over your toilet? try some marble shelves, or, how about these wall hangings w/faux greenery? would add a little color and life to the room or, you could do a warm wood shelf, plants, other decor items. shown here w/some wall art
