Where would you put furniture?? Help with layout please.
Comments (12)Good space for a one bedroom condo.,but I am having a devil of a time relating the floor plan to your photos. It is the dining area with the two windows and slider to patio? What if you rename dining area and call it the media space? You come in the front door, pass by bedroom and bath and the next thing in view is a round table/4 chairs, adjacent to kitchen. You leave the pass through as is, but add a shelf under it because you are now using the “dining area” for the t v/media area and the shelf can hold snacks, etc. Thinking......See Morewhat kind of furniture layout would you put here?
Comments (13)I agree with the layout of 2 sofa's L config facing the lake and FP. I would also add the 2 lower chairs by the slider. The chandelier needs to come down lower. It would help define the LR space and make it more intimate. Although you have high ceilings, which is great, but making it more intimate and welcoming is the goal for living in them. There is no way you will distract from the beauty of the windows and the lake. From an aesthetic point of view, the chandelier will not win against Mother Nature. From the outside IN, it would be beautiful to see a chandelier at night. Functionally, however, it is lighting the second floor and the ceiling. If it's that bright to light the downstairs, then I can't imagine how bright it is upstairs where someone maybe trying to rest. I would drop it or consult a lighting expert as well (who will probably tell you the same thing) It can function better....See MoreWhat would be the best furniture layout in this living room?
Comments (35)I really like Flo's layout for your room. It was the same as I was thinking. It makes sense to take advantage of as much of the floor space as you have available. In a narrow room, having the TV over the fireplace makes it difficult for viewing. Better to take advantage of the empty wall space you have to put it at a comfortable height. She posted some great options above for furniture and accessories as well....See MoreWhere to put furniture in vaulted great room?
Comments (10)Like this. You have to be able to ENTER the room, get a looooong console and a big tv Sorry N.O. to the sectional, you will block fire or crowd foyer entrance. It's a huge sacrifice in flexibility to get a darn CORNER. You'll live. There are a ton of super comfy sofas and chairs Your foyer and stair is half the width of the room! , So .........nope. traffic defines usable space: ) Don't wall off obvious paths..... ( you can give a barrel back swivel and ottoman as well ) I'd say no to an upholstered cocktail table. A hard surface is better /easier for snacks, games etc...See MoreAngela Todd Studios | Portland, OR
