Would love some input on furniture layout for my living room
Comments (3)Are those bookshelves? no fireplace in the room? Rather than a sectional, I'd get two sofas. One would have its back to the DR entry, facing the long bank of windows. The second would form and "L" with the other sofa and would be facing the bookshelves, back to the wall with the hallway entrance. Square table in the elbow joint the two sofas make; large square coffee table; TV on a wall-mounted articulating arm on the wall where you have the bookshelves, in the corner by the windows. You can then pull the TV out and angle it when you want to watch it, push it back against the wall when you don't, and any glare from the windows won't hit the TV....See MoreLiving room layout/color. Comments (12)I wouldn't keep the color scheme, but I think I'd put the TV on the orange wall. The yellow wall would be better in a vacuum, with its high window, but the advantage of the orange is that you could probably arrange it so you can watch from the kitchen too, if so desired. I'd get a long console for underneath it, whether you intend to hang or stand it -- at least 50% bigger than the TV itself. (Not much clue to style here, so not sure what to recommend...) Then you can assemble your furniture to gather around the fireplace and TV -- large couch with back to kitchen, with arm chairs on either side facing in. End tables with lamps, a coffee table, etc....See MoreLiving Room layout - what would you do?
Comments (1)Hi Belinda, I'm Neha. I created an interactive 3D build of your room to help you visualize your room in a much efficient way. You can place your sectional against the entry door wall and have it face the media unit opposite. I placed two swivel chairs facing the sectional which can also turn into a private coffee spot while using the fireplace. A shoe rack under the window to the left to store all shoes. Some wall decor and a rug to complete the look. Let me know if this helped. I can move around the furniture and create more layouts if you want me to....See MoreHelp deciding on what furniture would work for 11x16 living room
Comments (1)Hi Dominic Robinson , Crown & base, natural light, good colors. Great room you have! In general you have clear circulation & light sources. It's generally a shame to have your back to windows when seating though the temptation is there when you have a large wall opposite a window. A little creativity & functionality would go a long way. From the entry, a thin console table to the left w/ table lamps & key dish on top, possibly a shoe bin underneath. Couch in front facing towards the small window. Round coffee table for easy circulation, tv & media cab in the walled in corner. In the window corner you could get a decent chair & side table. If you really wanted to add more seating, you could use that wall for a long bench or storage w/ cushion on top & an overs-ized piece of art. Hope that helps! Check out my video below, maybe it's an option for you. If you want to share an ideabook, hit me up on my houzz profile. Thanks, -frank Build Beautiful Homes...See MoreCatie Stallings
