Are there antiqued mirror interior french doors available?

I am looking for something different for our office double doors. Love the idea of antique mirror. Just curious if I can use them instead of the glass inserts? Are these even available? Or ideas on how else I can get that look? TIA.

Hey there! I don't know about the antiqued mirror on interior doors, but I can suggest you rustic styled interior doors finished in aged oak color with mirror inserts. To achieve a unique and original look, it is not necessary to make cardinal changes. But if you still want to go with the antiqued mirror, you can buy such kind of mirror and ask the manufacturer to change it.

Some interior doors that IMO will look beautiful.

Oaktown, the salesman who was working with my mom indicated that these new doors have a better air seal /better efficiency than French doors. Of course, when don't sales people say what works for them? You're right about the track. RunnerGirl, I've also lived with no-good apartment sliding glass doors, but these were not the same -- perhaps that's why they've "upped" the name -- they want to separate them in our minds. BeautyButDebtFree -- love your name! Yes, I HATE the swing of my French doors. It's a pain and prevents breezes from entering the house. My mom agrees, and we're both excited to see how these doors work in her house. As for sizes, you'll have to do the math yourself -- after you're sure of your wall sizes. No one choice is going to be right for every house. Bottom line for me: When I went shopping with my mom, I wasn't prepared to be so wowed by these doors. I thought the choices were old-fashioned sliding glass doors or inefficient French doors. These new doors seem to have the best of both options, while removing some of their problems. I'd recommend that any home buyer give them a look before making a decision.

I spent a lot of time searching for a french armoire, and looked at many antique as well as reproduction pieces. The repros in that style ranged in price from $1,200-$3,500 (although some went much higher). Most of the repros did not have an identifiable manufacturer--they seemed to be frequently produced in places like Malaysia and then imported by small boutique type retailers. It's a very lovely armoire, but I'd ask questions about when/where they purchased it, how much they paid, whether it's solid cherry, and if any paperwork is available. Then check the structure carefully and look for signs of shoddy workmanship (lots of glue, etc). I ended up getting an antique french armoire (very early 19th century probably) on CL for about what they're asking for the repro. Great ideas everyone! I haven't heard of Smart Glass, I will have to check that out. Boopadaboo - my husband had the same idea to put drapes on the outside of the door. Unfortunately we only have three inches on each side of the door because of built-in bookshelves. They are part of the judges panelling so they can't really be removed. nancyinmich - I'm in MI too! Same issue with this solution as the previous. Not enough space at the sides of the door for them to fold back. Since my french doors are rather wide the panels would actually project further into the room than the depth of the bookcases so that won't work. WhiteRiverSooner - this might just be it! Do you mind if I ask if you made them, had them made or purchased them from somewhere? Because of the position of the door knob (relative to where the glass starts) I only have one inch. Wonder if that's enough to hide the side rings?

I just toured the Idea House for Southern Living in Taylor, Mississippi today (right outside of Oxford, MS)... There is a pair of antique looking tall, narrow french doors that go to the kitchen pantry....gorgeous...The glass in each pane was antiqued/mirrored/sepia-looking.I dont know if they show a picture of them in So. Living this month, but you can check it out..I have the Idea House book that was available at the Tour and they dont show a picture of these doors in it but here are two sources that you can try..Pella Doors and Windows Architect Series or Foster Custom Woodworks, Cain Foster 662-236-5676 or The Bank Architectural Antiques in New Orleans...be sure to ask all about the "pantry french doors"..hope this helps

We had French doors on both side of our bedroom -- regular glass doors -- and we always keep them open. We went to our local glass shop and they came and put mirrors in for us -- they're just glued to the regular glass and will snap off if we ever want our doors back as they were originally. I assume that you can get antiqued mirrored glass and do the same thing. As I recall it wasn't all that expensive -- way less than what a new door would cost.

This is the set into the dressing room. I have another set on the other side.
