Great info on zone 5 climbers, Bella Rosa - I agree with your assessments. For me, Jasmina has been reasonably cane hardy but not a very robust bloomer in my zone 5. Rosarium Uetersen has been rock solid hardy and fairly trouble free, so perhaps by z5b is a touch warmer than jjpeace, since it wasn't hardy there. I've only overwintered Amadeus one year but so far so good. Other hardy Kordes climbers have been Antique 89 and Harlekin - not always the entire cane surviving, but pretty good. Illusion has had no problems with my zone 5 winters but isn't as robust as Quadra or the othe Canadian explorers that Bella Rosa mentioned. I've found Florentina to be very cane hardy in my zone 5, better even than The Prince's Trust that started out more robust but hasn't been as enthusiastic in later years as Florentina. I really love that rose and recommend it in cold zones - it's robust and has a quick rebloom with terrific deep red color. I planted Quicksilver last summer but it didn't get established, so I'm replacing it this year. It's good to know it might appreciate some TLC. FWIW, I've tried Hella twice in my zone 5 yard and it hasn't overwintered at all. Moonlight I've tried at least 3 times, and I keep being sure it will survive each time, but it doesn't. Golden Gate I only tried once in a non-ideal spot, but it didn't survive either. Rosanna has gotten through one winter but I don't think it was fully cane hardy. For those wondering about Laguna..she is a hot pink not red at all. I have her own root' came in a tiny pot. I put her temporarily into a 3 gallon and she grew her roots into the ground through the pot and I believe, has headed for China! No way is that pot coming up without a LOT of shoveling. Nematodes must not bother her. She went 12 ft in all directions and started grabbing or should I say, stabbing at anyone/thing in reach. So far she's more evil and vigorous than my Mermaid of the same size. I think Kiss Me Kate has to be a better option. I am ordering her for spring I hope she is a little better behaved than Laguna.

I’m in zone 7a . My two kupids kisses roses were planted in early fall 2017 . They were tiny , around 3 inch tall in 2 inch pots . They put up on a nice growth this spring , no flowers yet but I see some buds . I don’t expect them to bloom vigorously because they are planted on the west side of the house and get just some evening sun .

I hesitated to respond to this thread because my experience with Kiss Me Kate is still very limited...but I'll share what I've experienced so far. I planted two bands purchased from Northland Rosarium in the late summer of 2020. I needed bands because I had to shove them into tiny planting spaces. I chose this rose because it stays on the small and mannerly side. I only need it to climb up the front of the small porch over my front door. I already have two Madame Caroline Testouts climbing along the eaves and over the roof of the porch. I'm sorry I don't have a better picture! You can see the Madame Caroline easily. The Kiss Me Kates are the two small roses tied to the lattice on either side of the front of the porch. The one on the left gets more sun and has grown about seven feet. The one on the right is shorter, but has more branches. Anyway, this is a tough spot because it faces full west. So it's in the shade until around noon, then gets blasted by sun and heat radiating off the stone patio and gravel driveway. So far, Kiss Me Kate has done pretty well! It has grown slowly, but so did Madame Caroline. The foliage is very pretty: dark green and very healthy. This first pic was taken on June 17, and i think it had bloomed or was about to bloom. The flowers lasted longer than Mdame Caroline's. ALso, it's self cleaning, which I really appreciate. There was a lovely sprinkling of pink petals on the steps which was charming. This second picture was taken in early September. I seem to remember buds and blooms on the plant all season long, although not many. I chalked that up to it being so small...but maybe that's par for the course for this rose. Hopefully over time it will bloom more heavily! So, probably not a very helpful report...but I'm hoping for better things this next season. Both plants put on a lot of growth last summer, and we were able to train the roses so that they touched in the middle of the lattice over the opening this winter. Maybe when the canes get more horizontal, they will bloom more. Fingers crossed! The flowers on this rose are really pretty, and have a wonderful scent. It's a very classic looking pink rose, with absolutely beautiful foliage. Of course, that doesn't matter as much as the bloom, so the jury's still out on this rose in my garden :)
