Suggestions for center shrub/plant in front flowerbed

I am looking for suggestions for a center plant in our front flower bed. Attached are pictures of the layout. I am looking for something to compliment and add some color, but that is pretty low maintenance. Boxwood and roses are out. I can't stand either. The front rows are Mexican Petunias, next rows are Foxtail Ferns, and the back rows are blue point junipers. Each side has an Italian Cypress (different sizes because one died and had to be replaced). the black upside down pot in the center is where I want the new plant. Ignore the blue and brown flower pots; they are there temporarily (attempting to grow oak trees from saplings pulled up from the yard). We are located in North Harris County (Houston), Texas
