Sago Palm Yellowing

Katie (Zone 5b)

A few weeks ago I bought a small sago palm, and repotted it in a gritty-ish mix right away (the soil it came in seemed super dense). Plant seemed fine for a while, but has been increasingly yellowed lately - I can't tell if I'm over watering or under watering? I wait for it to dry out between watering but it's still getting more yellow regardless of watering/leaving alone. When I do water I'm careful not to get any in the bulb/stem part. It is right on the ledge of a north-east facing window.
