Chip Implants Linked to Animal Tumors
Comments (6)Please be aware that rats and mice develop tumors much more easily than dogs or people. I read this on the AOL vet board. Furthermore, the tumors they are correlating with the microchips formed right around the microchip, and they are not seeing this in pets. My dog did die of a brain tumor, but since she was a wandering breed, I feel it was prudent to microchip her. And her tumor was very deep and not close to the chip. I am fairly confident the 2 were not related, though certainly I can't be sure. Then again, every time she escaped, it was the tag on her collar that was used to find me....See MoreState of the Union this morning
Comments (61)@PK Ponder - there isn't any state, including Texas, where it is against the law to go without ID... you cannot be engaged in any activity that requires licensing without carrying that license (so no driving, fishing, boating, carrying a weapon...) but if you are just out and walking around you do not need ID, nor are you even legally required to identify yourself to anyone unless you are under arrest. http://blogs.findlaw.com/law_and_life/2014/02/do-you-have-to-carry-id-with-you-at-all-times.html http://blog.uslawshield.com/when-you-must-id-in-texas/...See MoreI don’t care what side of the aisle...
Comments (18)Being from the blue side, I can tell you that I, along with all my other blue friends and family, have the utmost respect for the Bush family, the Dole's, the McCain's (another RIP hero) and others of the same selfless service. Any politician who does their heartfelt best to put all people of the country first, is to be respected. We may "agree to disagree" on certain policies, even accept that some of the decisions in hindsight, weren't the best....but, we still respect them if they did their very best, with the best of intentions. The service to the country, before they entered politics, is highly admired. And, I'm thankful to them. I'm hopeful that such morals, ethics and priorities will prevail to bring us together again as a country when we emerge from the current situation....See MoreBush And Broccoli
Comments (34)I saw some science program a few years back that stated there is some chemical in broccoli that some proportion of people can taste, and other people cannot taste at all. In the show the scientists had created a solution containing only that particular chemical (at some concentration) as a clear liquid. Then after having asked each of the participants whether they liked or didn't like broccoli, they would squirt an eyedropper full of the chemical solution in the participant's mouth. Some wouldn't react at all, and said it tasted like pure water, the others reacting with an immediate reaction as if the most vile thing in the world was in their mouth, some of them spat it out on the floor right in front of the scientists. The correlation between not being able to taste the chemical and liking broccoli wasn't quite 100% (surprisingly) but it was awfully close....See More- 8 years ago
