6 Month Flower Bed???
Comments (4)Winter is my favorite time for this. If you get the stuff in place in fall, it's ready for spring planting. Spring is already a busy garden time so it's nice if your new bed is ready and waiting for those spring flowers or veggies. In zone 5 all the materials might not break down completely over winter, but will be fine for planting. Karen...See MoreHijack this thread ...
Comments (1)o0 I fail to see how this thread is anywhere near the topic of African Violets. Anyway... for a change, my plants are looking fairly decent now. I hope they stay this way!...See MoreResting clivia
Comments (4)Hello, They might have had bloom stalks starting prior to going into the closet and because they might look so much like young leaves on some plants, you might not have noticed them until the got large enough to be seen above the other foliage. You should give them slightly more water now and probably a little fertilizer and light. The flower blooms sometimes open right in the middle of the other foliage if you don't give them enough time to grow adequately before moving them and you don't get a very spectacular display because of short bloom stalks. If the stalks for the blooms seem to be long enough, move them out into the light and let them go. My larger older plants will bloom twice a year. Once in February and once in August, but that doesn't happen all the time. There is good clivia book by Harold Koopawitz that gives lots of info about this( and lots of great pics, too) Good luck with them. Mine are not doing anything at the moment. I just moved and I think everyone is adjusting to new light, space, etc. That, and many got repotted. Maybe next season... Sebrina...See MoreEpoxy preservation?
Comments (1)While they are still fresh? You can't put fresh flowers in epoxy, they will need to be dried entirely, whether pressed or dried with silica sand. Anyway, my recommendation is finding small businesses on Etsy or Instagram that work with flowers and resin. My top two people on Instagram are @miawinstonhart and @kooky_bloom I know @miawinstonhart could do this but not sure about the second one. Congrats on the wedding!...See MoreDawnInCal
