Never bought an iris...where is the best place to buy them?
Comments (23)IrisGreens is now out of business... BlueJ Iris is excellent but their 'season' is over and aren't accepting any more orders fo 2007. I find them to be right up there with the size of their irises and the prices cannot be beat. The problem is that right now one can hardly FIND anywhere to purchase from... One source that I rave about can be found on eBay. Try going there and look up IRISES in auctions of seller greenriver_dr. They have some of the best and larger irises that I have ever seen and their packing and shipping is great too. Their only draw back is pricing. Bidders that want greenriver_dr's irises tend to really bid the cost way up... I was sorry when irisgreens folded. THAT was an excellent source both qualitywise and pricewise. BlueJ is second on MY list for quality and price. Keep them in mind for next year....See MoreBest Place(s) to Buy Metal Labels/Markers for Hostas? Cheap?!?
Comments (17)Thank you guys for all of the quick responces! Just as a sidenote incase anyone is interested: I also enclose in each hosta a second cheap plastic label I stick way in the dirt just incase the metal one gets displaced, so I always have the hosta name in a second place. I notice though that even black Sharpie markers do not last forever. And if the sun hits any part of it, forget it. However, if you get their Metallic Silver markers that are meant to write on dark surfaces, these really stay forever. I have had labels out in the sun for years with no fade so far. And, I also just discoved yesterday at Staples for the first time, that Sharpie now has Oil-Based Paint Markers! They are specifally made to be Weather-Water-Fade-Resistant. The pack I got was one Gold and one Silver. But on the back of the package, it says that they also come in other colors, so I am sure you could find black too at some point. They also have them in different points, med, fine, etc. I just thought I would share that while we are on the subject! Christy...See MoreBest place to buy door hardware (knobs, hinges)
Comments (11)I thought Homesurplus in NJ was pretty good. I didn't get wrecked by Sandy thankfully, but am doing a home reno. Handles were between $16 and $22. They have a few locations or you can have it delivered. I got 4 prehung pine doors, two bathroom vanities with granite/marble tops including back and sidesplashes, sinks, door hardware, and I think a few other things for about $1600. The only thing I was displeased with is that the doors did not take stain evenly in certain areas. It looked like some kind of oil had been flecked onto them. Sanding those areas down and restaining them fixed it, though. Here is a link that might be useful: Home Surplus door hardware...See MoreBest place to buy door hardware (knobs, hinges)
Comments (4)You can get one from professionals, either online or at your local home store. If you decide to go online you want to see what you are ordering before paying, cos you you want to pay and something else was delivered to you....See Moredbrad
