Oath.com, I believe, is the new "umbrella" for all the companies Verizon purchased. I think I heard that Yahoo, some of the "Baby Bells" and others were all going to fall under this "new" brand. Maybe it has something to do with that.

Yes; Yahoo based email will also go through this branding as well. If SBC uses Yahoo as their underlying base for email, you will see the oath branding. Google "oath yahoo" to see more info.

Over the weekend, when I tried to access my Yahoo email, I had to Accept a user agreement, now that they are part of Oath. I haven't seen anything else from Oath though.

I was afraid it was a hijacker! We cannot get into our email at all. sbcglobal is our AT&T's email provider. My husband is talking to customer service once again and they cannot tell him how to get into our email, they just say they are "working on it". Do we have to turn off our ad blocker? It doesn't tell us to do that on our computers...we have three computers going. We also have an old computer that my husband was able to get into our email on that one but it's really old and SLOW!

I had that over the weekend and wouldn't hit accept, because the terms are that you allow them to follow all you do, sell it that info, etc.,etc. Yes, I think they just spelled out more clearly what everyone does anyway, but I didn't agree. After a couple of more tries, it allowed me in without agreeing to their terms, which makes me wonder whether they accepted for me. Grrr.

Arkansas gal I have found a work around. If when you go to the page where you were connecting to the mail next to it is a box that may state sign in. I sign in there. Then click on the mail thingy which most of the time will allow me to sign in to mail. My SBC account is so old it has .net at the end. For security I then sign out of the box.

If that ^^ doesn't work, try turning off the ad blocker.

I'll tell my husband what to do and see if that helps. He's been on the phone with customer service and they just said that you have to use oath now. Our problem is that the user agreement page isn't coming up at all, just oath.com. I think it IS the ad blocker but my husband is busy and annoyed with the whole oath thing because it seems so invasive! He is BIG into privacy issues. oath.com wants to share your information with god and everybody! With privacy issues being on the front page right now, seems ridiculous how they are wanting to get our permission to share everything with everyone...GAH!

Sounds extremely invasive! Cleaning the cookies and turning off every blocker there is had no effect. We still cannot get to that user agreement page...it just will not come up. It only came up on the very old computer and we were able to choose to ignore for now or whatever it said other than accept then were able to get into email. I use incredimail so I didn't even realize what was happening until this morning when my husband tried to go to his email.

On my husband's computer, it won't do anything but go directly to oath.com and no where else. He is never presented with the option to accept their user agreement. OK so just now, he was able to log in using Internet Explorer...so there's at least THAT. We never use Internet Explorer though. But at least some progress.

Erase cache and all browser memory in your regular browser, then reboot the machine and try it again.

Alternatively, don't hesitate to use a different browser. Browsers are kind of like basic tools in my mind. Think of brooms - there are some minor variations from one to another but all do exactly the same thing, mostly the same way.

Wouldn't you know it, this morning there in an email from yahoo telling us what is going on with oath dot com...LMAO! GAH, how about sending it AFTER THE FACT! Sheesh! Kind of hard to read an email if you cannot get into your emails. They should have sent us this letter a couple weeks ago so we would have known what was going on. Our laptop computer had already done the redirect starting last week, for some reason it didn't begin to effect our desktop computer until just yesterday. Then on my computer, I use an email client so I didn't have that happen to me but if I had logged into it directly through the website, I would have had the same thing happen as on my husband's computer.
