Help with outdoor layout

We are in the process of adding on and renovating. We currently have a fieldstone (bluestone I think) patio that we love. This will be going away for a basement walkout and we want to have a similar style patio out of the living area of the new addition. Due to the grade and that we're on a hilltop, the patio will have to be framed by a retaining wall. The plan will be to face it with stone. I would appreciate any help on the layout of the patio. Looking at the image below the views of the mountains are directly out the patio and slightly to the left if standing looking out from the house. We entertain a lot and enjoy our current fire pit. We also want a small outdoor kitchen and I'm going to put a SunBrite TV on a mount somewhere for football in the fall. Thanks for the input and the time.

You will probably be better off with a nice deck on top and a patio below. I would center the stairs in front of the deck, stairs can be broken up with a landing or done in a few different and having them out of the way, the entire deck surface is being used without wasting to much space.

Lots can be done with space in many different ways, but here a simple example how I would start to laying this out just to give you an idea.

I am turning our little 1 room log cabin into an Air B&B, and I am building a separate stand-alone bathroom to the left of the cabin. So yep, I building an outhouse, but with plumbing. So do you have a BBQ you need in this space . Where is the entry to the patio from the house , like which room is it in? IMo think of the outdoor just like a layout for the indisde. Your BBQ close as possible to the kitchen the eating area as close as possible also to the BBQ just like a kitchen DR combo. The seating space think of it as the LR I find that works best . As for the amont of furniture that really is decided by how much you entertain and how many usually .

Sorry but you need areally good landscape designer here you will get so many ideas and still you will need a designer . IMO there is no such thing as too much deck I tiotally prefer deck to grass . As for the rest I have no idea Are you really planning on ripping out the pool? I am thinking you have a huge budget and are prepared to have no useable space this year.

IMO not a huge space but treat like a LR/ DR in your home That is the easiest way to decide outdoor furniture . I even like the flooring on the deck to be the same color as the inside flooring if possible So a nice dining area . Where will the BBQ be? That space needs to be sort of like a kitchen then enough seats for a aprty . I do not like swivel recling type furniture on a deck they take up too much space . We have 2 sofas and 4 chairs we can rearrange them in many different ways our "LR" outside is a bit bigger at 16 x16 feet but oyurs is not that much smaller . We have about 200 sq ft of deck all around our house so the dining space seats 20 and we have an outdoor kitchen but the space you have is a nice size . Look for smaller scaled but still comfy seating .
