We recently moved into our new home. Our living room has a cathedral ceiling and a big wall of windows. The problem is that on sunny days the room becomes unusable. Don't mind that we haven't finished furnishing the room yet but looking for suggestions on what to do about window treatments/brands/recommendations? We don't need to cover the top window since that doesn't cause any issues but the middle and bottom rows need something to help with the glare and sunlight. Please help. Open to custom blinds/curtains but looking for suggestions on types/brands. Probably in the moderate range if possible. Also our neighbors are decently spaced away from us and we own all the property behind the house that the window is looking out at. So privacy is not a huge concern.

This living room is open to our dining and kitchen. The dining has sliding doors and has light filtering grey/cream striped curtains. The kitchen has one window with nothing on it over the sink. Doesn't currently cause any sun issues.

We also have a 4 year old son, 5 year old daughter and a new baby hopefully being born this weekend. So we are looking for kid friendly (cordless).
