Full Size Headboard/Queen Size Mattress?
Comments (9)Ask the CL owner of the regency headboard if they could measure the width at the widest part of the headboard, which is where the headboard curves out on each side just below the top line. I am betting that it will give you a couple of inches of width on each side which will balance the difference between the 54" width of the full mattress and the 60" of the queen. You will also be able to disguise the difference a bit by how you place the pillow shams on the head of the bed....See MoreHeadboard Size vs Window Trim
Comments (19)Wow! Thank you everyone for the great responses!!! I usually hang out in the house building and kitchen forum and I'm thrilled to see this forum tends to be just as great! I'm not planning on putting up window treatments anytime soon for a few reasons (have other things I want to buy first, no need for the privacy with them due to no houses behind us, and would hate to cover up the trim at the top). I'm glad to see mixed responses because I feel that's exactly what I have about the whole issue! Olychick, those photos helped tremendously and give me peace of mind about it because I think those rooms are beautiful. Thanks again! P.S. Any suggestions on how to do window treatments without covering my molding on the top?...See MoreSuggestions for shape of headboard for King sized bed?
Comments (9)I've linked below my favourite bedroom set from a pine & oak shop near us - we purchased new livingroom furniture from them this past spring and plan on buying the bedroom set from them in a year or two (need to save some money first!). I just love this set because of the high headboard and low footboard - it's a queen shown in the pic but easily imagined with a king which is what we have and our bed is screaming for some height as it too looks really wide in our room. tess Here is a link that might be useful: bedroom set...See Morebedroom furniture dispute complete
Comments (54)My guest bedroom has been painted a medium lavender for about 12 years and I'm ready to go lighter. It's the same size as your bedroom with one large window facing east. There's a queen honey pine bed, nightstand, and large dresser. The comforter is white with watercolory lavender and teal flowers, dust ruffle is white, and curtains are white. But it still feels dark on all but a sunny summer morning. It's the only time the kitties go in the room for a nap, so they're a good judge of ambiance in my book. Maybe you see the sun more than I do, but I need more light in my life! Tibbrix has said that dark rooms are cozy. But she has also said chocolate and other dark colors work when there's not much wall space to paint. It has to be broken up with windows, art, furniture, etc. If the drapes are staying, you've already got your color palette. Merry Christmas!
